Mini 3 Pro feedback
I have a DJI mini 3 pro with the RC N1 controller and the latest beta version. I flew a single mission where I was in class C airspace. I had approval to fly at 150' AGL. when my Drone battery ran low and the RTH feature kicked in, the drone inexplicable took off to a height near 300' AGL before I was able to manually lower it and bring it back safely. This also happened when the mission completed. Being rather new to the app, not sure if this was a bug or not, but the entire mission and all waypoints were set to 150' is there anything else that could cause this behavior?

Check what you've got the return to home height set to, it's something you should check before each flight, if it's higher than the height you flew the mission at, it will ascend to that height before returning home, if the return to home is lower than the mission it will just return at the mission height
Yeah the firmware controls the drones behavior and all settings stick across apps so you more then likely had 300’ set in the fly app. Since you are new to DL I doubt you added a drone command in the plan for 300’ RTH which would be the only other way to change it.
You can set/check it here
Thanks for the help! It was the Return Home altitude. A feature request might be to display the RTH altitude in the mission. That way it could be updated when planning the mission. Other than that, I was pleased with the performance. everything worked well.
DL can’t indicate what the drones RTH altitude is set to in the Web app when planning the mission because it has no way of knowing since it doesn’t connect to the drone. As Martin’s screenshot shows you once you’re connected to the drone with the Native app it indicates what you have the RTH altitude set to. Just like with any other firmware controlled function you should always check the Native app settings before flight to make sure things like the Max altitude and RTH altitude settings are properly set. It’s no different than when using the DJI Fly app. As I also mentioned you can add a drone command if you think it’s necessary and set the RTH altitude in the plan to whatever you want it to be. It’s not necessary though if you already have it set in the DJI Fly app or you change it in the DL Native app once connected before the flight. Enjoy.
