you'd need to map the area first using something like dronelink, then create an orthophoto using a program such as WebODM from which you could measure the volume of your stockpile
So it means mapping with DJI Mini 3 pro is possible. Dronelink creates a 3D image?
Dronelink does not.
Webodm does.
Can anyone explain the processs from start to finish?
Among the videos existing, mine in french.
Just need to target a stockpile instead of a building :

Okay.so Dronelink is only for mapping.WebODM calculates volumes. Is there a way that Dronelink does all the job?

Right now mini 3 pro is in babyshoes to use Dronelink? If i would like to buy a new drone. What would you suggest for such measuring and could be in the same price class as mini 3 pro?
No Dronelink can't do all the job, with regards to drones I use a mini 2 with good results
What programs do you use? Dronelink and WebODM?
Yeah use Dronelink and WebODM for all my mapping which with me it's purely a hobby
Thank you!
Here is a video covering capture in Dronelink and 3D modeling in WebODM. On the assumption that you don't want it in French (as I'm sure sure stéphane did a great job).

There are other videos in that series as well.
One thing I have not covered (yet) is how to measure a stockpile. A few things to consider before you do that:
a. To do it accurately you need to set and use GCPs.
b. If you are not a surveyor, then you could get into trouble if you provide those measurements to anyone else.
An alternative that sort of wraps everything in one would be to use Propellor Aeropoints. They are automated GCPs that allows you to upload the photos taken (where the aeropoints are laid out) into their system. They will then process the map and produce all the outputs you need. However...that is not cheap solution and, since you are looking at a DJI mini...I suspect it is not going to be something in your price range.
Good luck!
