Android versions? (mini 3Pro and RC-N1)

Hi,
Is there a view on the minimum Android OS version required for a reasonable performance with dronelink?

I am looking at buying a DJI Mini 3 Pro and RC-N1 controller (sadly can't afford the RC-PRO at the moment).

I will buy a secondhand tablet or phone to use with the drone (Apple iOS phone user for everything else).

Any recommendations for a usable but low cost device (phone or tablet).

Personally I think this is the better route, as you can have a decent size screen
