Saving Flight as KML?
Is it possible to upload a flight plan without using the app on my smart controller? Such as saving as KML and using DJI pilot. I am not having luck with the app functioning properly on my smart controller. No maps load and overall function is slow- I have tried all the typical solutions. I will also be conducting my flight where there will be little to no wifi/cellular service.

Hi Lauren. I’d suggest getting a modern device as that very old SC has no official support anymore. It’s a 5 year old device and was not powerful even when it first came out. At the bottom section it explains the lack of performance. The other link explains what the requirements are in order for DL to work well. Also you don’t need any cell or WiFi service to use DL. You can download any plan for off-line usage before leaving a service area. Check the links. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

I took all the proper steps for instillation, so I am assuming it is the SC. Thank you so much for your response!
DJI states that my smart controller with screen will not allow a tablet to use the dronelink app to control the drone. They said that I would need to purchase a WM240 controller so that I can connect a tablet. I want to confirm that the WM240 is compatible with this.

Bummer. Unfortunately that SC is the only supported device with the M2EA. DJI discontinued the SC awhile ago and does not even continue supporting it with any updates. If it does work it will more then likely cause you to have a bad experience with DL so you need to decide if you want to continue to use it with the limitations. If you recently purchased DL you can request a refund. Sorry I don’t have any better information for you.

The dronelink flight planner is perfect for what I need to lay out my flights and I have not found another like it. Unless I want to purchase a new drone now, I will need to get a refund. This is a total bummer.
