Phantom 4 Advanced incoherent flying
Hello, I bought elite version of hobbyist plan to try mapping with my Phantom 4A. However it seems like it cant fly a straight line alongside its scheduled path. Looks like its "drunk". Same mission works fine with Air 2S. Issue persists even after IMU and compass calibration. Emulating the same mission in Pix4D capture with Phantom 4A works completely fine aswell. Therefore it must be a bug using Phantom 4A with Dronelink. Help me please!
app version: 4.8.3(280) kernel 4.8.1
iOS version: 17.1.2
latest Phantom 4A firmware

It says it’s supported so kinda strange since it works with the other drone.

Drunk-drone is an issue we have seen happen to older DJI drones over the years when using virtual stick. As you have seen compared to your Air2S, it is an issue with the hardware and not Dronelink. The reason why Pix4D probably works is because it uses onboard waypoints, which you can also do in Dronelink if you prefer: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/4410621290387-Onboard-Waypoints-Converting-and-Running-Missions
Thanks Jim, will try that!
Hi, I purchased a P4P and I also saw that the photo interval is not perfect.
Also tried with the WAYPOINT system as written but it doesn't improve much from the tests I tried.
In the photo below I show flight, 100m altitude and 36kmh (10m/s) speed, 30 hectares, 300 photo, 75%/70%.
Do you think speed could be a problem?
I'm waiting for advice, thanks.
I also have an Air 2 which is perfect with Dronelink.
but for large surfaces I would like to use P4P.
I have to do 300 hectares (10x30).
Can you Share your plan. It could just be the same issue as stated above.
How do I share? file or share from Dronelink?
edit
Plans seems fine so more than likely it is the same issue as stated above. Not much DL can do. Also I don’t believe that drone can’t shoot 1 second intervals. When using DL the camera functions the same as when using the DJI app because the firmware will only allow what it is capable of. Most common interval times are 2, 3, 5, 7 and so on. I’d check the DJI specs for your drone and see what they are. If it is set to 1 second the mission may still run but it will capture at whatever interval time was last used.
with lower speeds could it improve? I also tried the DJI GSP app, but it seems to have the same problem.
Try manually setting shutter speed to 1/1000 or 1/500 depending on light conditions.
I don't know how the shutter can help me with the location of the photos.
I found the DJI app for P4RTK and it also works well for P4P, it's free and the photos are taken at the right distance. At the moment the P4 family is the best solution for photogrammetry Without buying an Enterprise model with mechanical shutter and 20m pixels of sensor.
Sorry, wrong thread.
