DJI AIR 2S + RC PRO Unable to Control - Camera Not Feeding In

DelaVista Air

When flight map is ready to go, it goes up about 25 feet and then says, unable to control.    Hovers until I land manually then every subsequent attempt to reconnect results in connecting and disconnecting rapidly until the Dronelink app crashed.  Also, the camera will not feed to the dashboard - it just shows the default background instead.  DJI flysafe does not show me as being in controlled airspace but b4ufly does so I imported the flysafe liscence to the aircraft just in case.

I did force quit the DJI Fly App.

If you are running Dronelink DJI as indicated in your post you're running the wrong version, that's for the mini 3, you need Dronelink for the air 2S, go here for the correct version

That's super odd because I was using the Mini 3 Pro on the same RC Pro but unpaired them and paired it back up with the Air 2S - then I reinstalled Dronelink DJI and selected the Air 2s

here's me installing the app - note the Dronelink DJI version https://streamable.com/bet2pu

Do you have 2 versions of Dronelink on that controller, because to fly the air 2s you need Dronelink which is based on MSDK4, for the Mini3 You need Dronelink DJI (notice the DJI at the end of the name) which is based on MSDK5

    Hello DelaVista Air, Martin,

The Air2S supported by the Dronelink app only, not the Dronelink DJI app. The Dronelink app supports the Air2S on the DJI RC Pro. Both Dronelink apps can be on the same device.

For the RC Pro + Air2S, the Dronelink app is required.

For the RC Pro + Mini 3 Pro, the Dronelink DJI app is required.

Sometimes it may be required to update the RC firmware. The DJI app should prompt you if it finds inconsistent firmware on the device.

Added this short article explaining this:

    Best,
    Jacob

I have not gotten a prompt to update the RC firmware in the DJI Dronelink app - I'm wondering if there are multiple SDKs loaded onto my RC although that would be highly unlikely after I factory reset it.

The DJI FLY app says I have the latest RC firmware version so LMK if there is another update I should be making to the RC Pro?

    Current status:

    • RC Pro Firmware is 03.02.0500
    • DJI Air 2S Latest Firmware 02.04.2500
    • DJI Fly v1.11.4 (1160-official)
    • Dronelink DJI Version 4.7.1 (269) Kernel 4.7.0
    • Android Permissions on RC Pro - Phone, Location Storage (no other options)
    • Flight mode set to nornal
    • Max altitude and distance in DJI fly app is maxed out so that shouldn't be an issue
    • Not in a no flyzone per the map but initiated the clearance license anyway - on or off, the drone doesn't connect

Dronelink DJI app initially connects to drone, does not feed in camera at all, connection fails after a few minutes.  Have tried reinstalling the dronelink app multiple times with no success.   Have factory reset the RC Pro, no dice.

Reverted RC Firmware to previous version - No Dice.

DJI FLY app and the Air 2S Fly fine together so there isn't an issue between the RC and the Air2S

Dronelink DJI app will not connect to the drone properly so now I am just forced to go back to the Mini 3 Pro and re-sync the RC Pro to that one since it doesn't look like there is compatibility with the Air2S as advertised.

    I have tried the following

    • Calibrated the remote, compass and IBU via the RC Pro
    • Installed and Re-installed multiple times the Dronelink DJI app to the RC Pro via selecting the Air 2S from the link provided below
    • Factory reset RC Pro
    • Downgraded RC Pro firmware to previous versions
    • Flew a new plan in uncontrolled air space
    • Maxed out max altitude and distance on aircraft via the DJI FLY App
    • Force stopped the DJI Fly app everytime I used DroneLink app

Open to more fixes but doesn't look like it will work out with Dronelink.

The firmware update prompt is in the DJI app, not Dronelink. No other users are reporting any issues with this hardware combination, but if you end up needing a refund: https://www.dronelink.com/refund

What happens if you install the legacy Dronelink app (MSDKv4)? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HWpF9zaTnylVy8eSW23gmZv0geqOZXQR/view?usp=sharing

Thanks for catching this DelaVista. Martin, you were actually right about the app that was required. Both of the Dronelink apps can be on the RC Pro.
The post I previously made was incorrect, I have updated it to be correct.

The download page for the Air2S has been updated to use the correct link for APK install of the MSDKv4 Dronelink app.

I have an Air 2s with the smart controller and I'm getting the same results. All my firmware is updated and my screen is blank except my gps data

P LeBleu. Which model controller ? Many people call some of the newer ones Smart Controller but there was only one original called that.

Did you download the correct APK?

It's the DJI Smart controller (that's how it's labeled), not the rc or the pro. I downloaded the app from the play store, from the dronelink site and the MSDKv4 version. All gave me the same results. Something interesting is it worked before I paid for my subscription.
