Scroll down and add drone heading to 270° of path. If you don’t see it you will need to change mission planner mode to Expert. You can change the gimbal pitch as well.
Thanks Mike. Is this option in the On-The-Fly menu or mission planner? I need to use On-The-Fly orbit for my work so hopefully it's in there? I can't find how to change to expert mode on mobile device app so maybe you are talking about mission planner site? Thanks
The option mike is talking about is in mission planner, its a while since I've used on the fly orbit mode, however I think there maybe an option in there to use the sticks to determine where the drone points, if not maybe try the on the fly focus mode
Tha ks. I am happy with the setup of normal on the fly orbit mode, including advanced option for controlling speed, but whenever I try and yaw the drone away from PPI, it rotates back to original heading. This is important to musencase, as I need to include a mix of inwards and outwards facing orbits in the same flight. If anyone can assist then great!
Andrew, in that case I'd plan the mission in mission planner, if you take a look at this mission I've created about the statue of liberty, I've created 1 orbit with the drone looking into the center, and the gimbal looking straight ahead(0 deg to horizon), then I've created a duplicate, but changed the drone heading to 270deg to the path so it looks outwards

If you must use the on the fly and the heading can't be controlled that way (I haven't used it that way) another option would be to run the on the fly mission, convert the completed flight to a normal mission, edit it to add the heading you need, and then re-run it.
Here are a few videos to help:

2. How to re-use a completed mission https://youtu.be/xtJ1DHRNgOM
Interestingly, it didn't occur to me to add the on the fly orbit to the orbit series...maybe I'll do that one day
