Mini3 pro photo interval issue

Leonardo Conti

Hello, I noticed that making a "map" mission with the Mini 3 pro, the interval between the photo shots is not regular. I verified it with Airdata. That problem does not exist with the Mini 2 that is perfect. Sometimes it takes a photo every second, sometimes there is a 3 seconds interval. And I noticed a slight error of the gimbal heading (4-8 degrees) but I guess I can fix it through the gimbal setting. Thank you. Leonardo

Hi Leonardo Conti, what have you got the capture priority set to Time or distance(default), if set to the default of distance then there will not be a regular time interval  between the shots, as the time taken to travel the distance between the shot will vary based upon the drones speed, more info can be found here https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/4419665270803-Time-vs-Distance-Capture-Priority

Thanks Martin, and one more question please: the gimbal heading is NOT the drone heading, right? Because I see (on Airdata) that the gimbal is often slightly pointing left or right, not aligned with the drone path... How can I solve this?

Check the gimbal alignment using DJI fly

Gimbal should be same as drone heading. If it’s off a couple degrees or so you may need to calibrate it in the DJI app. Sometimes even after auto-calibrating the gimbal can still be off a tad. My drone has been set manually to about 2° to the left for a long time in order to be fully straight. Also the Mini 3 can’t take intervals at 1 second. Most drones are 2, 3, 5, 7 and so on as indicated in the drones specs. So 2 seconds will be the quickest time interval and should give you more than needed if set up correctly.

If it doesn’t center with auto calibrate I found the best way for me was to look straight down over the top of drone and visually check. With the 2° which mine was off it was noticeable enough so if it is off as you said 4° to 8° you will be able to tell easily.
