Premium Hobbyist (camera angles during mapping mission)

The Bad Radio

Currently I have Hobbyist Premium subscription and I find that the camera angle during mapping mission will stay at it`s current orientation as I set it initially and it won`t shoot in three different angles during mission. What is the most appropriate upgrade so that I can have that multi-angle camera feature, or am I wrong? Thank you!

Are you saying you are trying to change the gimbal angle manually during the flight?

Which drone ? The only way I know how it could be done is if you have a drone with multiple cameras but you would need a professional plan which supports them. Then you could set each cameras gimbal pitch. Otherwise If you need additional captures at a different pitch then just run a second mission with just the pitch changed. You can copy the plan which is an exact duplicate in Web app and name each one a bit different with a description indicating at what pitch it will run. Upgrading to another plan won’t help if you only have one camera.

if you want to use oblique angles you need to upgrade to the Elite hobbyist plan

Yes, That will give the ability to set the gimbal pitch at other then -90°. However, the gimbal pitch still cannot be changed to three different pitches during a fight. To me that’s how I read his question. “I find that the camera angle during mapping mission will stay at it`s current orientation as I set it initially and it won`t shoot in three different angles during mission.”

Yep. Not sure why they would need to change it but anyone’s guess. 👍🏼. I’m sure you and Barry could assist them with proper gimbal pitch setting to get great 2D or 3D.

Most of my mapping missions, I fly on 2 levels:

    1.  285 feet AGL (Terrain Follow) 80% front & side overlap -90 Gimbal
    2. 185 Feet AGL (Terrain Follow) 80% front & side overlap -65 Gimbal
