Dronelink does not connect

I have used Dronelink many times with Mavic Pro 1 and Mini 2 without any problem.
I recently bought a Mini 3 and I have tried to test Beta by installing Dronelink DJI it has worked for me with application crashes known to be Beta. The problem is that the normal version of Dronelink has stopped working with Mavic pro and Mini 2. I have uninstalled everything and installed only the normal version of Dronelink but it still doesn't work.
I really can't think of what else I can do.

I am using RC-N1 with mini 2 and original controller with Mavic pro 1, both with samsung Note 10plus. It has to be the phone that for some reason is no longer understood with Dronelink.
As soon as I can, I will try another phone, see if it doesn't give problems.

Just a suggestion & cheaper option than another phone, try a different cable first, it wouldn't be the first time a cable had failed

Hey Victor. A few question which may help us to figure this out. You mentioned it doesn’t work with both your MP and Mini 2. What specifically is not working. Example; No live feed, won’t connect, mission won’t start or execute etc. Screen shots or maybe even a short video may help. Also when was the last time you used that Samsung Note 10 plus with either of those two drones and which Android OS version ? Are you using the same phone with the Mini 3 or a different device or controller ?

    Hello Martin.
Rule out this possibility, because the two drones work fine with their respective original apps and with two different controllers and two different cables.

    Hello Mike.

Today in samsung note 10 +, I have uninstalled Dronelink, and I have reinstalled the application from the Play Store and it appears again in the upper right part of the screen that the drone connects (tested with MP-1 and Mini-2) "Great , I have a job to do and I didn't want to resort to MP-1 with Dji Pilot".
Yesterday I did the same thing and it didn't work.
My conclusion is that to test Dronelink - DJI Beta it is better to use another phone to avoid conflicts with standard Dronelink.

Hey Victor. DL states you can have both apps on the same device when using a newer and older drone so I don’t believe that is the issue. It is possible both apps are running at same time which can interfere. Do either of the apps start up automatically when you power on the controller. If so you can change that in the devices settings and turn off either app opening. Even if neither does if at any time you had manually opened either app the other must be forced stopped/ terminated to use the other. It’s not enough to just swipe close with an Android device it must be force stopped in the settings. If both have been opened and one is still running in the background that may be an issue as only one app can be connected at a time. You can check the devices settings to see which apps are possibly still running and force stop all of them. DL recommends having only the DL native app opened with no others still running in background. Probably more info than you needed but it may be something as simple as this. Can’t hurt to double check the settings and make sure. Since the Dronelink app worked again then it didn’t it seems like it could be a conflict with both apps running which is a common issue which can be rectified.

Even though that device is 4 years old it sounds like it still may be working. If you do upgrade to a modern hardware device I’d take a look at the link I’m sending to a Google spreadsheet which DL started and has many devices listed with functionality and performance. This list is fairly new but it may be helpful in deciding which device if you do want to purchase a newer one. You can actually add your device to the list with some comments which may then help others in the future. Just some thoughts and suggestions which may help. Enjoy sir.

Sorry to bombard you with more information and questions. Just want to confirm you actually checked in the devices settings under the section which shows which apps are still running in the background. You mentioned you had used the Dronelink DJI app with your Mini 3 so unless you force stopped it when done using it the app may still be running in the background. The majority of time when pilots report the drone won’t connect to the app it’s due to another app still running. As I mentioned before it’s not enough to just swipe up since it doesn’t force stop/ terminate it. I’d double check in the phones settings where it list any apps still running in the background to make sure the Dronelink DJI app or any other app is still not running. If it is then that is more than likely the issue since only one app can be connected at a time and it can cause conflicts.

No problem and thanks for the help.

I don't know, it could be something like this. It is true that now that I realize it, it only forced the stop of DJI fly but did I not do I between the two versions of DL. It is also true that it kept failing me after uninstalling beta.
Right now the standard version of Drone Link works well with Mini 2 and MP 1, you just have to restart the RC to switch between applications, without the need to force stop the APP.
Another important thing is that I use Mini 2 and Mini 3 with a single RC and every time you change the drone it updates the firmware of the RC and this could be causing some conflict with Beta.

How are you doing with Beta, and what hardware - equipment do you use?

If the RC firmware is flashed to support the Mini 2, and you try to use the beta with the Mini 3 it won’t work. You need to updare the firmware in DJI Fly before you switch.

Yes, of course, this is what I do every time I change drones.
