Mavic 3T thermal vision during orthomapping

Air Scan

Hi there! I have an upcoming mapping project where I have to shoot with a Thermal camera. Is there a way to use the Mavic 3T Thermal camera during an autonomous mapping mission?

Yes sir.  Just went out last night and ran a mission.

    A few tips:

Set the camera the way you want it in DJI Go ap.  Make sure you have the pallet the way you want it...the camera view....everything.

At this point, I have found no way to control this from the Dronelink ap.  You CAN go from ap to ap in flight....however, you have to shut down one to use the other.

Careful on your zoom function.  It will give you a larger photo with less resolution.  Since you flying at dusk or at night, your shutter speed on your light camera will be very low.  As a result, your images will be blurry do to movement.  I would make sure to control the light camera with manual shutter to get around this.

I'm not convinced taking infrared with a moving drone is the way to go at this point.  To be safe, I would go old school on this and stop the drone for each image.

This all said....some of you guys smarter than I should speak up if Im off on any of this .  I just switched for an XT camera on an Inspire 1.  Still learning the drone abilities as well as the app.

A sample test flight from today.  Mavic 3et.  It can be done and well.  This is 98 images at 80% overlap and 150 feet agl.

Thanks for the feedback, it's looks amazing. Which software have you used for the postprocess?

Yes sir.  Happy to help.  Not many of us around doing this.  Gotta stick together.  Thank you!  Happy with the results!

    I stitched it with ODM

Hi Today i tried to take off with my Mavic 3T and I see a cycling of on and off between the DJI SDK connection when I have the Dronelink app open. Is this happening because DJI GO2 is open? How do I even close that app in my controller?

Eventually Dronelink crashed. I wasn't able to fly.

Yes you need to force close DJI Go2 before launching Dronelink
