pause button vs C/S mode switch
Hello,
I have a question that will (probably) explain my (little) crash (without damage) :
Drone already in flight, when flying to the start point, is the "pause" button effective ?
It seems to me that I pushed the button but the drone continued the route to the center of the orbit (with obstacle in between ...).
Maybe I didn't. Difficult to remember when the crash is coming :-)
Maybe the C/S switch is more appropriate.

I was going to post a thread about this but I’ll tag tours. The DL apps pause button works and always has. I tried a couple days ago with my MA2 and RC-N1 controller and the pause/ RTH button would not pause the mission. I always use the app pause button if needed but I thought I’d try on the controller since another post mentioned this problem as well. So switching speed mode out of Normal or pushing the pause button on the app works. Controller button pause does not. Which pause did you hit, App or controller ?
I have noticed on my Air 2S that the pause button doesn't do anything unless I hold it long enough to initiate the RTH - then it stops but now I need to quickly cancel the RTH.
The mode switch (if the drone has one) is a more reliable way to stop a mission in a panic.
I pushed the rcn1 "pause'.
The same as the RTH.
A short click shall pause de drone.
Seems it didn´t : no trace on AirData log.
I routinely use the pause on the controller to refine my landing position after the drone has returned to home and is descending to land.. There is nothing in airdata to show that pause was pressed.
To be clear, The pause button on controller doesn’t work. As I mentioned I have always used the apps pause button which has always worked. I don’t remember if I’ve even used the controller pause button but I expected it should work as explained in DL’s help articles. So something has changed and is keeping it from working with DL since it is working with the DJI app. I’m sure it will get fixed but either one or two other ways depending on controller/ drone. Suggest using the apps pause for now or speed mode switch if it has one. Mavic Mini does not. 👍🏼
Thank you Mike. 👍
I will do specific tests to confirm what you´re saying.
Yeah I'll do some checks here if I get a chance
I confirm that the physical pause button on rc-n1 does not pause the mission.
For at least the mini 2.
Tested it several times today.
Pause in app works, but in case of emergency the it is quicker to reach the physical one.
Hope everyone is aware. I was not.
I’m sure it will get fixed. It’s always worked this way for a long time and there is a DL article.

One question on behavior when pause is used during a waypoint mission:
Can pause button on app be used to truly pause a waypoint component at any place in the path such that, for example, gimbal and heading could be manually adjusted to then manually take an AEB photo, all while the drone is hovering due to the pause, after which pause is pressed again to resume the automated waypoint path? If so, I could see this being a useful way to re-use a waypoint path originally made for video (but with video off) to be able to take reference photos and to check -90 ground positioning views at certain points along that same path.
Yes as can the disengage command as explained in Barry Houldsworth five minute friday video
Doug R. As far as using the same path mission again without video. You can also just copy the same plan or even just the path section you want to use and then remove the video camera commands or the command list from it. Then just add a camera list for photos with the settings you want. Then take the photos manually after either pausing or using a disengage command. This way you will have either one which can be flown without needing to change the settings, remove or stop/ start captures.
Thanks Martin -- I had seen Barry's video but had the impression "disengage" had to be a separate component in a list, versus being part of a smooth waypoint component path... But, I do now see that "disengage" can be added to the waypoint path itself, and it shows up as a path action -- that's nice. Can I assume the waypoint path will decelerate into and stop at such a path action point, and then smoothly start back up on the same path when hitting resume (without breaking the path into two pieces and wrecking the path shape like hover does)?
The pause button should work in the next beta build (275).
Good point.
Always working hard to continuously fix, add, upgrade functions and features even if they are not a priority. Thanks Jim.
