Point of Interest with Gimbal Pitch

TarzanEng

Hi guys

There is a location I would like to have point of interest circling the area. The problem is, everytime, I do point of interest, the gimbal pitch is stuck at 0 degress. Is it possible to do a point of interest with gimbal pitch at -15degrees? Thanks.

Not sure how you have it set up. However, if it’s a path you can add a separate path action with a gimbal pitch after the POI. You can change the altitude offset on the POI instead but should work better if wanting a set gimbal pitch at -15%.

    Sorry for late response.

This is me, trying to input the point of interest. But when you try to add the gimbal pitch, the point of intrest deletes iteself.

The point of interest already gone.

    Here is the plan.

You can’t change a gimbal pitch on a POI as it will then remove it as you have noticed. As I mentioned above just set the POI, then just add a path action right after to set the pitch. All I did was add the one marker just after first waypoint which is where the POI is started. I set it to the -15° pitch as you wanted but you may want to change it due to it not being focused on the POI’s area. Run the mission preview and adjust from there.

Ok you can't have a POI and gimbal angle on the same waypoints, so here is what I'd do, its an orbit centered on the city hall, with a gimbal angle of -15 flown at 80feet (~25m)

Thanks Mike and Martin, You guys are a lifesaver.

Martin: I totally forgot about orbit.

EDIT: One last question, when we fly the drone (mine is DJI Mini 2), can we adjust the gimbal pitch on the fly but mantain the point of intrest? I know you can do preview but you never know the angle of the gimbal pitch requried until you are there? The last time I try to do it, it "figths" with me.

    Thank you

Also you can try using the Orbit On the Fly. You can enable the sticks to control the aircraft and set it up how you want to include gimbal pitch. Takes some time to understand because so much can be done with On the Fly modes or missions. In regards to your question about not knowing the best gimbal pitch, you can download the KMZ file and run on Google Earth which will give a much better idea of how it will look.
