Do you trust DJI's apps? re personal data security
I have read some concerning reports on the privacy behaviour of DJI apps and the subsequent removal of them by Google from the Play store. Specifically their ability to seemingly install code surreptiously and send data to servers without permission.
I feel this is probably somewhat overblown but, to be on the safe side, I have so far avoided installing their apps on my primary phone due to trust concerns in terms of privacy / security / personal data on my personal phone.
So, since this is a community on the harder-core side of droning, I wondered if I am being overly cautious and if people here generally trust DJI apps not to be doing shady things on your phone or with your personal data?
Thanks!

Thanks for the perspective Mike! Totally agree about personal responsibility and pilot error and I have no doubts about the quality of dji apps from a flight stance but what I really mean is "trust" in terms of privacy / security / personal data on your personal phone?
Got it. I misread the question so deleted my silly comment. I’m not worried about it. The US government has so much info on us I really don’t care. It’s part of the technology age and I doubt China is hacking your device. Anyone’s guess and Pilots choice but I’d just fly and enjoy.
I'd second this, personally I think America is paranoid about China, I'm UK based
Yes.
I have concern myself. Formatted my controller and SD card before I sent in for repairs. Some how; they were still able to see my flights that I had deleted.

Your flights are not stored on the SD card. Not sure about all the models but on the drones I have the logs are stored internally in the drone - you can access them using the DJI Assistant.
