How to start in manual flight mode? Option not being presented
Jim, I'm running the dronelink app at the premium level with a DJI mini 2. I've run a few mission planned autonomously and all went well. Very pleased with that. However, there are times when I arrive on a site and I need to start in manual mode and do recon before setting parameters for an automated flight (i.e., mission plan a gridded flight). I've looked online and watched instructional videos but they show a "manual mode" button being offered when the app opens. My does not do that. It opens straight to a screen that offers my "plans" and "repositories." I've tapped on dronelink menu, drone name, on the fly, and every other clickable item on this screen, and nothing allows me to access manual mode so I can test fly my drone before executing a planned map. How do I get to manual mode. Here is a screenshot of the home screen when the app opens. Thanks!

Hi Steve Sullivan, the trouble with some of the instructional online videos is they are for the old classic layout, to get to manual mode you want (Dashboard) just tap on the orange oval top right where it says DJI Mini 2 | 86%, if you didn't have the drone connected this oval would be grey and say Dashboard, see my screenshot below
As Martin stated, in Modern dashboard it has a launch icon. However, you can always start the motors in the same way when using the DJI App. Both sticks in and down. Then fly as normal.
Martin, I really appreciate your reply. I had to wait a few days to get out in the field and test it. I still could not get that icon (upper right) to allow me to fly manual mode, however, I did what Mike from Arizona suggested and did the thumbsticks down and in, and it switched to manual.
In fact, I've started using that approach (manual override) in general. For example, if I want to fly at a given oblique camera angle (for 3D modeling), the "premium" package I have does not allow me to preset this, but I can do it manually while the drone is on an autonomous flight. The drone continues the automated flight with the new camera angle I manually set.
Again, I really appreciate the words. I'm a complete newbie and feel quite inept.)
Hey Steve. The dashboard button is only displayed when not connected as Martin stated. Once connected you click on your drone which shows DJI Mini 2 and it will go into the dashboard. Basically it’s like using the DJI App to fly just a different UI look. Once there you will have ability to change any of the settings, see the map and have camera feed. The Modern dashboard has an auto launch icon on left side of screen as shown in this screenshot. We were all newbies once and DL has so much to offer it takes a good amount of time to learn. A good amount of pilots here which can help. Enjoy.
Also I’m supplying a link to all the DL articles for additional help. There is a lot of information so I’d suggest bookmarking it so you can look through them for additional assistance in the future. As in mentioned DL has so much to offer it takes time to learn the Web and Native app but DL has amazing support so just ask if you can’t find what your looking for.

yeah I'd echo what Mike (Arizona Wyldwest), said above, I mean if you become a regular on here you'll soon notice that we have different ways of doing the same thing, and all of us can learn off each other
