Do you know what version it started happening in? If you rollback to a previous version does it work?
I just started using dronelink two weeks ago, so the earlier version would have been from two weeks ago. I flew around 40 successful missions in ten days, before the crashes started happening. How do I reinstall the earlier version from two weeks ago on my iPhone?
I just tried again using a different drone the mavic 2 pro and the exact same dronelink shutdown happened, after a few seconds.
Then I tried using a different phone the iPhone 14 pro max and the exact same dronelink crash happened.
The DJI app communicates just fine with the drones and does not crash.
I need to complete the project—would you recommend buying an android device? And if so, which one?
If you install the beta from TestFlight, you have the option to select previous builds:
As for Android, there are many other threads on this topic.
This began happening for me as well as soon as I installed 4.5.1. I’m going to get the next beta and give a try and roll back if it doesn’t. Just wanted to confirm a similar issue.
Thanks, we need to know the exact version that is started happening on.
It seems to have started on 4.5.1. I’ve rlloed back through each revision starting with 4.6 and it was present until I reached 4.5.0 (247)
So started happening on 248?
No, on 4.5.1. I had to roll back to 4.5.0 (247) to get a none crashing version.
248 was the first 4.5.1 build, so just trying to understand which build it starts on.
Gotcha, just didn't realize about the numbers there. Thanks Jim. I have our folks staying on 4.5 til further notice. I have two devices to work with, one of which I keep Test Flight installed and one that just uses released builds. So, if you have a beta you need tested let me know.
So to be clear, 248 is when it starts crashing?
Saludos, también existe la posibilidad de que las desconexiones sean por un Kp alto que se da estos días, ojo que hay días con un Kp de 7.
Greetings, there is also the possibility that the disconnections are due to a high Kp that occurs these days, be careful that there are days with a Kp of 7.
Yes Jim, 248 introduced the problem as far as I can tell.
Just some info on newest Beta version and build 4.60. (254) Only flew 3 short missions today. Two approx 3 minute missions and once 6 minute. No problems using a iPad 11 Pro, M2 with Mavic Air 2 to report so maybe it will solve others issues. I even tested the auxiliary light command and it worked for both on and off. Also just to clarify, the KP doesn’t matter for many reasons. I’m not wanting to get into a discussion but that only pertains to the amount of Satellites the drone can acquire and has nothing to do with the app crashing. I’d update to the newest Beta version and try. So far this version worked perfect so maybe it will work for the other two pilots with issues. Enjoy everyone.
Are you using a Mavic 2 Pro Steve?
Yes, still on Mavic 2 Pro and iPad Pro (3rd Gen) with Cell Data enabled.
Happening to met as well Mavic 2 Pro. I am currently in the field and dead in the water. 4.5.1 248. I have no idea how to roll my software back
The instructions are above. We have a fix for this coming in the next build build (4.6.0, 255).
Thank you. I got the beta installed and rolled back to 4.5.0.
255 is out, let me know if it corrects the issue.
I’ll upgrade tomorrow and let you know. I should have joined the beta earlier. As an aside, what is “Jim Flight Planning Mode?” Easter Egg?

Just ran 255 with bunch of manual flight and no crash. It’s loading planned missions just fine. Heading to location for a planned flight.
👌
I ran 255 all day. Tested on iPhone 13 Pro Max (14,3) and Ipad Pro 12.9 (13,11). iOS 16.4.1 for both devices. It crashed once at the beginning. I re-installed the app to make sure I had the correct version installed and never had the issue repeat. The only oddity was during one of the later flights. I had a window pop up momentarily that said something about not being able to create a log file due to size. That's extremely paraphrased. The window was only there for a second or so. Just wanted to report in so you had a data point. Cheers.
