APAS in mapping with Mini 3 Pro
After getting the right app I tried the mapping feature with the mini 3 pro. All connected but cannot execute mission because it is in APAS mode. Is there other steps that I must do.

Yes as noticed several times here, you must disable APAS mode in DJI fly app first. Then u can switch to DL Beta app and execute your mission. Works like a charm nowadays due to my findings ❤️

Is this a limitation to all drones controlled under DL or just the Mini 3 Pro? I remember reading that it's because of the virtual sticks mode used to command the drone. Does the SDK let you use APAS on other drones? It sucks that all the safety features are disabled while using DroneLink. I think the ground sensor still works, regardless.
We have an experimental change in 4.6.0 (254) which intends to allow users to engage missions even while APAS is showing in the flight mode indicator. Having said that, we do not believe it will actually prevent the drone from running into anything so I wouldn’t get bold with it. The change is more about just letting you start the mission without having to pop back to DJI Fly.
Will the update be automatic or will I have to download it again
The updates the Dronelink DJI are never going to be automatic as it is installed from the APK, not Google Play.
