Mini 3 Pro - Constant App Crashes.
Hardware:
Mini 3 Pro
Samsung S20 FE 5G
The phone is factory reset and fully updated. It is only used for mapping and doesn't have other apps installed beyond the default apps and Dronelink DJI.
Problems:
It's very difficult to complete a mapping mission. The app crashes every minute or two during mapping, forcing relaunch, reloading the flightplan and attempting to continue. Within a minute or so, the app crashes again.
Sometimes that app will crash, then crash again before I can even load the flight plan. Android then tells me the app has a bug and asks to clear the app cache.
Initially I tried using a Pixel 2 XL phone but also ran into constant crashes there, I bought the S20 FE because I assumed the Pixel 2 was probably a little old, only to run into the same issues.
Second issue:
I am unable to change camera settings in modes other than single shot. When I try to change settings like shutter speed or white balance in video mode or other photo modes, the camera is completely overexposed and when tap the shutter speed, the app says changing that setting isn't supported in this mode.
It seems that the only functional camera mode is the basic camera.

Software version: DronelinkDJI Version 4.5.1 (249) | Kernel 4.5.0
What build and version of Samsungs Android implementation? And what CPU, brand and model.
Android Version: 13
Kernel Version: 4.19.113-26205065
Build Number: TP1A.220624.014.G781USQUAHWCH
Keep in mind I had the same issues with a Pixel 2 XL as well, which is why I moved to a more modern device in the first place.
Sorry to say, from my view I'm unable to reproduce most of your reported issues. That said, on Huawei Android 10, Xiaomi Android 12 and 13. Some camera settings like changing shutter speed isn't yet implanted over the MSDKv5 software layer I guess. Even if I turn to Pro mode in DJI fly app, then switches to DL DJI there's no way to change. Only message in app "not supported in this mode".
At the end of the day, Samsung is for certain models infamously known for odd implementations of the Android framework. My best guess is to have patience until it's ironed out.
All crash logs from DL DJI beta is xferred to Jim & Co automatically for assessment.
Thanks for the report. As stated above, the crash reports come to us automatically, so no need to keep reporting about this as it has been posted many times already.
On the exposure settings, what mode is the camera in when you try to change those settings?
OK Great to know Jim McAndrew, I was about to submit a post too. I tried my first M3P mapping two days ago:
https://app.dronelink.com/ozy311/test-projects/plan/qvCS2BbkKC1s1hcvKS3i/d4dPBfSvlMzs0UyKAOIe
And it crashed 14 times while acquiring it. I have to admit, the recovery was complete and the WebODM results were amazing! I am using a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+. I made sure all apps were closed, a fresh reboot, and even airplane mode to see if that would reduce the crashes. I hope you saw all the crash reports!
Thank you
Trust us, we get all the crash reports automatically.
hello, I'm also conducting tests with my DJI Mini 3 and it occurred several times, I show this in my video on YouTube:
https://youtu.be/UjuSz_e__CQ
I'm using the Software version: DronelinkDJI Version 4.5.1 (249) | Kernel 4.5.0
my phone is a REALME XT - Android 11 build number RMX1921_11_F.03 and kernel 4.9.227-perf+ / ColorOS V11
I hope I've helped in some way and will be conducting more tests.
This will be corrected in the next build (252).
Same for me (frequent crashes in mapping missions) with my Mini 3 Pro, Dronelink 4.5.1 (250) | Kernel 4.5.1, using Samsung S9 phone (Android 10). Flying a large mission (about 600 images) it probably crashed 10 times. Was able to complete the mission in pieces though.
Not complaining, just mentioning in case it's helpful.
And thanks for the great software, this is going to make the Mini 3 Pro 1000x better once the bugs are out.
Let me know if you need any other info or if I can test anything.
I carried out another survey with the latest version of the application, still with glitches and shutdowns, but much less than the previous version, I put the video on my YouTube channel if you want to see it. thanks.

I am having the same issue. Actually, DroneLink will not reconnect back with the RC and the Drone. This is even after restarting the app. I will then have to force close DroneLink and start my DJI Fly app to get the drone down.
I am also unable to adjust any camera settings for the Mini 3 either.
“ I am also unable to adjust any camera settings for the Mini 3 either.”
Chuck Strickland. Which camera settings. If it’s for video then the Modern UI doesn’t have the Resolution and Frame Rates which are adjustable. Same situation with your question about the white balance. Either add a camera list to set them or set them up first set them in the DJI Fly app. The app crashes have been discussed a lot so not much can be done with the Mini 3 Beta app at this time. DJI and DL are trying to get it sorted out but it’s been a mess from the start since DJI released the SDK. Hope that helps.
Thank you sir. It does. These are actual photos, not videos that I am having an issue with. It seems to me that i have less issues with videos versus photos.
Ok. Maybe you can send a screen shot or recording showing what you mean by unable to adjust camera. Most camera functions should be adjustable. Some are not and need to be done as I described before. One other is the photo interval time. It Must be done with a camera reset list or in DJI App. This may one of the settings you’re asking about and none of these are bugs. I use camera component lists on 99% of my plans so it’s all automatic and all I need to do is hit start and the mission runs from start to finish then returns to home. Much easier to set it all and forget it.
Sure. The next time that I am out with the drone, I will do screen recording and share.
Estou enfrentando problemas semelhantes de travamento tanto com o Mini 3 quanto com o Mini 4 Pro. Após tirar a primeira foto, o drone trava. O atraso frequente torna impossível concluir o processo. No M4P, sou obrigado a voltar ao aplicativo DJI Fly para usar o retorno automático para casa (RTH). Estou usando um tablet Samsung dedicado e também testei com um smartphone, mas o problema persiste.
I’m experiencing similar freezing issues with both the Mini 3 and Mini 4 Pro. After taking the first photo, the drone hangs. The frequent lagging makes it impossible to complete the process. On the M4P, I'm forced to go back to the DJI Fly app to use RTH. I'm using a dedicated Samsung tablet, and I've also tested it with a smartphone, but the problem persists.
What specific device models are they ? It may depend on which Android device as some just don’t have a powerful enough processor which is needed.
