On the fly

Frank Aebly
Hi all I was looking at the direction page of how to create a mission on the fly. Step 2: Step 2 - Open the Waypoints Path on-the-fly function When I open my app I don’t see a path option

I can’t find the option under waypoints to create an on the fly mission. What I want to be able to do is what is described in the on the fly path function tutorial. I would like to fly the drone to a point mark that as a waypoint set camera options etc, flt to another place and repeat. The waypoints option only seems to let me click on a map to add a waypoint and camera croon etc. thanks

The native app is where you use On the Fly, not in the Web app. Maybe that’s what your trying. The waypoints (On the Fly) with native app is where you set it up. You fly to a location then mark and set up camera etc. All the On the Fly mission are created with the Native app.

    Hi Mike
I was using the app on my iPad not the website. Don’t see the option anywhere. Does it have to professional subscription?

Frank, click on the lightening bolt, that will take you to the on the fly missions, scroll down to the waypoints option that I circled in my previous post

Nope no lightning bolt and I can share pics of my app screen but when I go to select fly on the mission start menu I either get the predetermined 3 waypoint mission with no option to add waypoints except to tap the screen. If I select the menu for fly that does have the words on the fly I get redirected to login. I login and I’m back to the predetermined 3 waypoint template. I upgraded to the latest version of dronelink on my iPad and Martin I don’t get the screens you shared.

It sounds like you are on the web app and not the mobile app.

I have been on the mobile app. I only try new things with the mobile app so I can fly in a safe place like a big park where I can get the drone if something goes wrong. In fact just now at the park I updated the app through the App Store in case that was the issue.

You kind of have to be on the mobile app to try and fly and record waypoints as you fly. The web app is really pre-planning missions

Are you using the Mission Planner in the mobile app ? If so that is still a browser, not the flight portion of the app. Open the mobile flight app. Do not go into the mission planner. Look at the bottom on the screen as shown in Martins screenshot. Home, On the Fly and Missions should be there. This is the default way the Mobile app should look after opening it or going into the Dashboard. It does sound like your using the web app within the mobile app. if you want to share a screenshot here just click on the little photo icon in the top bar and add it. Second from the right side at top.

Thank you all for your patience with me. I don’t know how to explain it but I downloaded the app to my iPhone and the lightening bolt and all the options were there so I took my iPad and uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and voila the lightening bolt and all the options were there too! Haven’t had a chance to try it out yet at the park maybe tomorrow.
On a somewhat related note, is there a way to create a mission from a previous flight log?
