All the Dronelink docs I read said android only.
Thank you
Do we know if this is just for the beta period or if DJI / Dronelink is planning to sunset iOS support moving ahead?
A big part of why I chose Dronelink was cross platform support.

Damn, that’s disappointing. I appreciate the info.
I contacted dji they said they will not be doing anything with the mini 3 pro for iOS which is a let down. I am planning on switching to android phone because there’s no way I can return the drone. But I can tell you it will be my last dji drone buy. They lost a customer over it I felt like I was fooled. I wouldn’t have bought the darn thing if I new I would have bought the air2s
Hi, I recently bought a Mini 3 Pro with RC and I’m very interested in Dronelink which looks really good, but struggling to get my head around this.
I understand the following is correct:
- DJI won’t support Mini 3 Pro SDK on the RC unit
I use Apple iphone/iPad so had been thinking “ok if RC SDK for Dronelink is out then buy an RC-N1 and use an iPhone to run Dronelink” but no, it seems:
- DJI won’t support Mini 3 Pro SDK on iOS either
So to run Dronelink I would need to either:
- buy an RC-N1 *and* an Android phone I don’t want or need or…
- buy an RC-Pro which costs as much as my M3P and RC combined
- throw it away and start again
Even more irritating seems to be that the upgrade path I’d looked at Mavis 3/Classic won’t be supported either? Unless I forked out for an Enterprise version which is out of budget. Or an Air2S??
Not intended as a rant, I’m just trying to understand if this a route that is now closed unless I spend a lot more money :)
cheers
Neil
Sadly yes, this is the state of affairs. Wish it wasn’t this way…
Thanks Jim, yes, that’s a real bummer. An N1 and a cheap Android phone or tablet is probably the only real solution here, not sure what sort of cost/performance I’d need as I don’t know much about Android phones. I guess having two controllers isn’t such a bad thing, provides a bit of redundancy.
Neil Richards, on the android phone front, I occasionally use the right hand side of my old LG V50 to fly with, and that works fine
Hi Martin, thanks for that, it’s a pity I don’t have one lying around. I do have an iPhone 11 and even two 7’s (probably not man enough though) and had been hoping to use one of those, but alas no. Thinking about it I actually don’t really need a phone - don’t need LTE, or even cameras - just a decent display and a competent processor running Android. A Galaxy A7 is about £180 and could do it, but not sure it fits on an N1. More checking needed…
Martin, for what its worth I am in the same boat. I found a used N1 controller online for $40 and purchased a pay as you go android device for $120 (Motorola Moto G Stylus). I did not have to activate the phone, it works in wifi mode and it also came with a 30 day return which was nice incase the setup did not work. I have had pretty good luck with my Mini 3 Pro (I got video and a mapping project to work). Not an ideal setup but gets me in the game with my Mini 3 Pro. If things change in the future and iOS gets supported, I can sell my android device to get some of my investment back. Hope this helps!
My main device that I use for flying is a Galaxy tab 7 fe, nice 12.4 inch screen the V50 Mitsy gets used occasionally if I'm out walking and using follow me mode
OK, so I found a lightly used N1 in the UK on eBay which I’ve bought, should arrive tomorrow. I have an add-on tablet mount for it arriving tomorrow so that just leaves me dithering over which Android platform to buy. I’m not going to bother with a phone, may as well get a decent size tablet. S7E lovely but too expensive at this stage so looking at an S6 Lite maybe, or an A7/8 but not sure if they would be good enough… any opinions? 10inch screen is fine I think but wary of dim screens - A series reviews suggest best for indoor use.. Once I’ve got all this together I can send money to Jim and sign up for the beta! 👍🏻😃
