No camera view

Ruben Velez

I’ve only seen one post on this issue but it didn’t resolve my issue. When using Dronelink, I have total control of my drone but have no camera view.   I reinstalled it too and same issue.

I am using a Samsung 10+ (Android version 12)
DJI air 2S

anyone has any idea if this is a DL issue or DJI SDK issue?

Have you granted all permissions, and is the Air 2S firmware totally upto date without any hacks

Yes. Permissions are fine and air 2S is current without hacks. 😩

Just an update.  I just tried on an iPhone 11 and it also doesn't work.  However, when I turn on the histogram, and cover the camera and uncover the camera, the histogram changes as normal.   But just can't see the camera view.

Are you trying to connect indoors or in very low light. Are you sure the exposure is not set too low. When I connect indoors to test stuff the camera is working but the ISO is set so low for outdoors I can’t see anything. I switch temporally to auto exposure and even though it’s still dark it’s working. You never know, it can be something simple. Just a thought since the histogram is changing which sounds the camera is working.

Also are you using the most current firmware, not an older version on both drone and controller. Good luck.

I thought the same.  I test indoor and outdoor.   I also put the settings in auto as well.   The camera view is black either way.   I also confirmed that the aircraft and RC have the current version.   What baffles me is that I get the same results on an iPhone 11, Samsung S10 and iPad Air 4th gen.   I believe the the iPad wasn’t on the compatible list but tried it anyway.   I also deleted both DJI and Dronelink app and reinstalled Dronelink only.   Same results.   I’m out of ideas

I am having the exact same problem on Samsung devices. The camera image only works on an A8 Tablet with android 12. On A53 and M53 phones with Android 13 the camera image is not displayed. Air 2 S.

Thanks Raí Kauê Istschuk Lourenço da Silva for the feedback.  I tried all my devices I have available with the same results.  I’m just at the end of the road with this issue    I tried everything I can think of   I purchase the Elite package to practice and learn the app before using it for business and upgrading my subscription.

Does anyone know if there is a direct support line with Dronelink?

Hobbyist plans don't come with email support, instead we support you here on the forums.

I tried everything I can think of

Can you please answer my previous question:

What firmware version is the Air 2S on?

Sorry Jim McAndrew, I miss your previous post.

    Aircraft:   2.04.25

    RC: 4.12.01

    DJI App  1.9.9

That appears to be the correct verison, so assuming you aren’t running DJI Fly in the background at the same time, and you have granted all permissions, I am not sure what else to suggest. It sounds like it must be an issue with your drone as no one else is having this issue. Worst case scenario: https://www.dronelink.com/refund

Correct.   I'm not running the DJI app in the background.  In fact, I uninstalled DJI and Dronelink app on all different devices and only installed the Dronelink app on all devices.    I was asked to grant permission and I selected Allow.

I also suspected it might be the communication between the drone and the Dronelink app, but I don't think to bring this up with DJI as they may not take my issue that doesn't work on a 3rd party app.

I found a few people in this community that had the same issue but found a device that worked.   See Raí post above as one example.

I will try to see if DJI can shed any light on this and will share my findings

    UPDATE

I reached out to DJI and as expected, they can't assist in troubleshooting for a 3rd party app issue.  But they did try to give me some options to try.

    • They asked me to click on Reset Parameters for the Camera settings from the DJI app.   Issue still exists
    • They then asked me to refresh the firmware by using the DJI Assistant 2 and reapply the latest firmware.   Issue still exists

DJI said that I could send the Air 2S to them so they can test all the components, but there is a cost, but the worse part is that they will probably have it for weeks.   And there's still a possibility that the issue may still exist.

On a different note:   Just for Sh&ts and Giggles, I took the drone out on a short mission and kept the distance short so I wouldn't lose sight of it and found that even though I couldn't see the camera view on Dronelink,  it still took and save the photos.   Not sure if this triggers any idea on my issue, but I was expecting the photos to be black as the camera view.

Ruben is not the only one having this issue. It seems to be a bug with the latest firmware version (02.04.2500). From what can find online, DJI knows of the issue and it is supposed to be fixed with the next firmware update.

I bought mine just before Christmas and it immediately was asking me to upgrade the firmware. I made the mistake of doing so, and haven't been able to use Dronelink at all with my Air 2S. I am waiting and hoping the next firmware will fix this issue.

It will not have live view no matter what phone you use. I've tried 6 different ones (Some with only Dronelink software and no DJI on them.). It is also effecting Litchi software too.

We have tested Dronelink with this firmware and there is no issue on iOS or Android for our test devices.

Eric Cribb - Thanks for the info.   And thank you for telling me about Litchi because I was thinking about getting that software so I can do some mapping but feared I would have the same issue.

Devices I've used which have all failed to have Live Video on my Air 2S.

Samsung Galaxy S22 - already had Dronelink on it working perfectly well with a Mini 2

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 - Also had Dronelink working with Mini 2

Tried Reload the firmware. No change.

Samsung Galaxy S20 - Factory reset, installed only Dronelink, (No DJI software installed), all permissions granted.
Dronelink ran like normal - No Live View

Samsung Galaxy S9 - Factory reset, installed only Dronelink, (No DJI software installed), all permissions granted.
Dronelink ran like normal - No Live View

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 - Factory reset, installed only Dronelink, (No DJI software installed), all permissions granted.
Dronelink ran like normal - No Live View

Apple Iphone 9 - Factory reset, installed only Dronelink, (No DJI software installed), all permissions granted.
Dronelink ran like normal - No Live View

Apple Iphone 7 - Factory reset, installed only Dronelink, (No DJI software installed), all permissions granted.
Dronelink ran like normal - No Live View

Tried reinstalling the firmware a second time. No change.

Aquired a DJI RC Pro. - installed only Dronelink, (disable DJI Software), all permissions granted.
Dronelink ran like normal - No Live View

Did notice that after Dronelink software was used and I reopened the DJI software, it also had no Live View, until the drone was powered down and restarted.

I have same problem when I conncet my mavic air 2 to dronelink, no camara view and only dark view.

I think this problem not as the reason of I am using my samsumg galaxy a53. the dronelink developer have to solve this problem for us because when we buy it, no comment to tell us it can not work properly with some specific mobile phone.
