A couple of OTF mission Questions
Question 1
If my phone dies during and OTF mission will Dronelink abandon the mission and hover or will it continue? I am assuming that since Dronelink uses virtual joysticks and does not send the mission to the drone that it will just hover and wait for user input. The reason I ask is that winter weather is now upon us and the temperature is starting to drop. I was out tonight and the temp was -5ºC but I have been out in past winters in temps as low as -25ºC and plan on doing so again this year. I have had my phone occasionally die on me especially in the really cold temps but that was with DJI GO or with another automated app that uploads the mission to the drone so if the phone dies the drone still flies the mission.
Question 2
Is there a way to capture the coordinates that are input in the Spiral OTF mission, specifically the end coordinates so that I can fly to them later? I am using the Spiral OTF mission to create a Light painting of a 'Christmas Tree' and want to use the coordinates at the top of the tree (the end point) to create a star to put on the top of the tree. This will likely require me to fly two missions - one for the Spiral and one for the Star and use and then combine the resulting images in post. I will be using another flight app to create the star (vertical waypoints mission) since I don't think it is possible in Dronelink.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Read this on lost connection.
On finding the coordinates, just find the mission in your mission history in the web app and open it up:
Hi Jim,
Thanks for your quick reply.
With regard to the lost connection. I understand the lost connection behaviour of other flight automation apps that use the DJI SDK to upload missions to the drone and their limitations. I am not talking about lost connection to the controller which I understand but instead having the phone go dead due to cold weather. The drone would still be connected to the controller and should still respond to all normal stick inputs from the controller but since the OTF mission is sending virtual stick inputs from Dronelink, I would assume that since the phone is dead the mission will terminate and the drone will hover - is this correct?
I would think that the fail-safe setting that is set in DJI GO would not apply here as the connection to the controller still exists just not the controller to the phone. I have actually had my phone go dead due to cold temps while flying my drone (wasn't using Dronelink at the time) and have had complete control, just no video feed, battery info or other telemetry.
With regard to finding coordinates, I found them in the web app on my phone - thanks. My next question is, can I fly the mission with the web app on my phone or do I have to fly it with the Dronelink app then go to the web app to get the coordinates and copy and paste them over to the second mission?
Thanks for all your help.
Chris
The drone will come to a hover, but it will still be in virtual stick mode, so you will need to perform these steps to take control.
If you want to fly one of your OTF missions again, you have to copy it into a repo as a plan to get it to show up in the native app.
Thanks Jim for your reply,
In the case of the Phantom 3 Standard which does not have a RTH button, sport mode button, or pause button, flipping the S2 switch (the one on the right of the controller) from F-GPS to P-GPS should give me back control from the virtual stick mode if my phone should die.
With the OTF missions, I will try copying it into my repo from my mission history so that I can re-run it again if needed. This is a very handy feature because sometimes it takes a number of tries to get the desired effect especially for light painting and being able to copy the mission to run it again is a huge plus.
Thanks for all your help.
