Mapbox Terrain follow anomally

So earlier on I was setting up a linear mapping mission with terrain follow set and when I previewed it was surprised to see the drone descend fairly rapidly while it was actually flying along a road that goes up a hillside, below is a screenshot of the mission which was created with the Mapbox maps https://app.dronelink.com/martin-reading/beta-4/plan/v3KbOpOkpZAn8U6l9heM

Mission Preview

In the mission preview screenshot above you can clearly see where the drone descends (into trees) on both legs of the flight.

I then decided that i would draw a path with an altitude of 87M in Google Earth and import the KMZ and see what result that produced https://app.dronelink.com/martin-reading/beta-4/plan/50W4M1ta0JcPzrw07oI5

The Google Earth Mission Preview above shows what I expected.

I then decided as a further check that I would create the mission using Here Maps https://app.dronelink.com/martin-reading/mapping/plan/wSOWKYL5LyWIQXQo7NZ5

Looking at the mission previews it can be clearly seen that there is a difference between the Mapbox altitudes and both Google Earth and Here maps, that if flown would probably result in the loss of the drone, so shows the need to check missions properly before going out into the field and flying them

To be clear, the elevation only comes from ESRI (the 3d view in the web app), so changing the 2D base layer or importing from Google Earth should have no effect. Will look into it, by my guess is there must be changes in the ESRI data and the mission plans don’t cover the exact same area.

Hi Jim McAndrew, yeah it surprised me as well as i thought the data all came from the same place IE ESRI which is why I posted as an anomaly and not a bug , there's definitely no reduction in height at that point as the road climbs up the side of a hill, and is a joy to come down on a bicycle, but not such a joy to climb...................
