Problem when importing KMZ path as Lineal Map
Ok, I thought I'd try importing a KMZ path created in Google Earth Pro as a Lineal map, all seemed to go ok however when it opened in the Beta web app, it started and finished in the correct places, however about halfway down the path it went in a completely unexpected direction as can be seen from the screenshot below, the red line is the KMZ path

Most of the issues we see around Linear Maps happen when there are way too many boundary points specified to follow the underlying feature. We have code that attempts to automatically merge and discard the unnecessary points, but as you can see it isn’t perfect. If you start removing points manually you will see the path becomes somewhat more sensible.

Sorry to say Jim McAndrew, we now seem to have another couple of problems importing KMZ as Lineal maps:
A KMZ that is a straight line with just a start and end point ends up importing (or not) with a length of 0 feet, if the same KMZ is imported as Waypoints it imports fine

Ok so now on to the second problem, to investigate problem 1 further I decided to create basically the same path, but this time i would put in a point halfway down the avenue, this time around a lineal map is created, however it only extends to the half way point.
As per the first problem, no problem importing as waypoints
