Mission Preview not smooth in web app.
Anyone else noticed the Mission Preview is not smooth now ? No matter what device I use, iPad Mini 5 and now the newest iPad 11 Pro, M2 chip, it clicks like a clock. I use Firefox but it works the same with Chrome and Safari. Maybe a DL issue but I’m curious if anyone else has noticed.

Hello,
I did a lot of simulations yesterday.
Did not face this concern at all.
Do you mean in Dronelink or in Google Earth?
I've noticed the refresh on Google earth is slow today. I put it down to all the shoppers :)
I believe I agree with the lack of smoothness while using the Dronelink desktop app. (V4.3.1 K4.3.1) Using FireFox it looks like a series of images being played at 2-3 FPS. If you use the 2X-4X-8X etc. it displays at about the same "frame rate" but makes bigger "jumps" (distance) between them. I do not remember this previously. (Actually it looks a lot like my live video feed on the RC, when it takes a photo the live view halts momentarily while the photo processes then jumps ahead to the correct location.)
Maybe it's just so cold here the electrons are slowing down!
Edit: At the same time Google Earth is buttery smooth for me this morning, even at increased playback speeds.
Edit: "Simulator" acts the same jerky way.
Mission Preview with web app. As I stated, I’m using two different devices., not a PC and Google Earth works perfect.
George, I’m glad someone else noticed it. It was always smooth before. Must be a DL issue.
Here is a short screen recording.

The mission preview used to simulate the mission using a 10hz control loop (same as the native app in the real world) but we updated it to 5zh in 4.2.0 to get a 2x performance boost. We made this decision because it didn't really affect the accuracy of the final result. Bottom line, would you prefer the preview to look smoother or run twice as fast? I guess we could make it an expert mode option...
The mission preview is a big help until completed. I’d like it smooth like it would be in the real world. For me it seems hard to tell what the rotation, heading change, POI will look like. I use Google Earth a lot before a flight but that would take much more time going back and forth and running over and over.
I’m am curious what you mean by 2x performance boost. Is that when using a browser and working on plans or when flying mission with the native app.
If it could be made as an option in Expert mode the at least we would have a choice. Thanks Jim….
Since this is new I think time will tell if others like it this way or the other.
It means mission previews generate twice as fast as they used to, which is huge when previewing missions that are 30-60+ minutes over and over.
Ok. I’m sure using a PC may be different but no issues here using my iPads. They load very fast on 30 min plus plans. Thanks for the info. I’d rather have the smooth previews. 👍🏼
Another vote for smooth
Same here...but I am no expert
yes soft
I use the simulator to check vs obstacles, heigth, pitch etc etc. Needless to be smooth for me (unlike in real world).
The default will remain fast, but if you want to put it back to how it was:
thanks Jim
Thank you Jim. 👍🏼
Tried on three browsers just to make sure using both iPads and still not smooth. Please check and advise.
Please refresh and check again.
On iPhone it looks good now. Did not until just now.
Also like that it is a “sticky “ toggle so the selection remains instead of having to reselect each time. At least in my limited testing.
All good. Thank you.
