Fly manually with DL and log flight as a path for post editing into a mission
This is a feature wish list to enable do a reverse path modeling and editing on DL. The strategy use case is as below.
I’m at a location where map data may not be up to date, or I’d like to actually be in full control to locate the drone at all corners of such a flight. Another reason could be that it may be a dense location. In this case, I wan to fly by wire first, and ensure, with visual confirmation, every key frame point. Afterwards, I can after flight, have the path or points in a DL “saved mission” and be able to link the points into a path, or automatically as DL to create path between the points.
On one hand i should be able to:
1. Link points together based on my choice of sequence. And for each path select either straight line link or a beizer based path.
2. Ask DL to automatically create an optimal path in either a combination of straight line or curved paths between points, but also have the capability to optimize.
3. Enable overlay other components on the points, or in between points.
4. Be able to export as KML/KMZs and also play the mission in 3D mode.

Could you not already achieve this by using the on the fly multiple elements mission tool
No exactly Martin Reading, unless it’s a hidden capability under one of those advanced mission plans. My understanding of these advanced mission plans are that you’re already in the air, and want to trigger these “components” to be executed. You can then place these components and format them they way you want to be executed.
My request is that, I can record a mission manually while I am flying manually. This recording includes capturing drone position and movements/path as well as heading and camera position. This is recorded and saved as an on-the-fly mission created based on my flight or the points I’ve specifically acquired based on the drone positions.
Am not sure if this is already available. But it will almost be like the Skydio and DJI key-framing, which are recorded positions and path, player-able over and over again, or edited/fine tuned after creation. If it is there, then it would surely merit a YouTube video, because i have no clue.
with the multiple elements, you fly to a position, select the element you want to use at that position, apply all its settings, then fly to the next point and repeat for there, maybe once the weather is better here I'll sort a video on it
Exactly what Martin said.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, the ability to reuse an on the fly mission would give you what you need. Here's a short video on that.

This allows you to fly the mission, record everything, and then edit it afterwards in the usual way.
Jim McAndrew and Martin Reading you were absolutely on my request... yes I found it completely covered in "On the fly Waypioints" -- splendid feature there. Just tried it and was blown away already... it's my Christmas discovery!
