What are the DJI N3/Lightbridge 2 requirements for photogrammetry missions?

Josh Poznich
I just bought the $50 plan, premium I think, and went to fly my first mission and I got a message saying that I needed to upgrade to be able to fly using the DJI N3 flight controller. What plan do I need, to be able to fly using the DJI N3?

The N3 is not officially supported and we have never tested it with Dronelink. If you still want to try it you need a Growth plan.

Ok, so what happened to the $50 that I just spent on a plan that won't work for me? Can you get the billing department to put that towards the first month of the Growth plan or will I have to dispute the charge to get my money back?

Will your system fly the N3 without issues?

Like I said, it isn't officially supported and we have never tested it so we don't know.

I see. The system is recognizing it as an Inspire 1, I believe. I'll check when I get back to the house and make sure. I'm using all DJI products, N3, Lightbridge 2, X5 camera. It's on a custom 1200mm octacopter so I really don't want it to fly away either. I'll get back to you when I have a chance to double check that.
    Thanks again.

Ok Jim, stopped by home and when linked to your app, it shows N3 in the corner of the screen. All of my telemetry data shows up like normal. The fact that it reads it as an N3 and shows all of my telemetry, I was led to believe that it was a supported platform. I planned my first mission, hit fly, and it said I had to upgrade to a professional plan. So as of right now, my purchase is wasted. I just need something that allows for autonomous flight that is better than DJI's GSP app.

I was led to believe that it was a supported platform

The underlying DJI SDK may allow connections from this device as it is on their listed of supported hardware, but we don't have one and have not tested it, so we can't officially say we support it. Also, we haven't written any specific code to disallow connections from this device coming from the DJI SDK, it just happens automatically due to the way the SDK functions.

    my purchase is wasted

We have a lenient refund policy, so no, your money is not wasted.
