Dronelink program shutting down

Bob Scheffler

Flew 14 minute mission last week and experienced a completely blank screen.  Using Mini with Samsung S21.  Started mission normally with only DroneLink open.  Halfway through mission between 300 and 400 feet altitude the screen on my phone went blank.  I clicked on the sideways hamburger icon (bottom left) which opens all apps. running, Dronelink was not running.  I closed all apps and tried to re-start DL and it started but went right to a blank screen.  I again closed all apps and opened DJI Fly, app opened but said RC could not connect to AC.  I re-started the RC and still no luck.  Since I could not see the drone and I was not sure what was happening after a guesstimate of approximately 2 minutes I hit the RTH button.  AC returned without a problem and I had manual control.  A review of the video shows that it recorded during this period and a review of the flight log showed NO loss of connection.  I think I experienced this once before but I could not find it in the forum but I seem to remember it being explained as just a glitch. Experienced it again, twice, but this time the screen went back to my desktop and I could re-start DL and continue mission.  I have 3 batteries that have got over 240 charges and are giving me some problems and at least one of these missions used a bad battery.  Today I used 2 of these known bad batteries and flew 2 exact missions within a minute of each other.  I started with both batteries at 92%.  They will charge to 100% but they lose percentage fast and they sat for 24 hours.  Both missions I received a warning of low voltage at 38% battery and both completed their missions and RTH at 18%.  I do notice that I cannot fly with these batteries if I start at 89%, but I am not sure where that cut off is.  I do not think it is the batteries casing this issue.

Jim, any ideas, this is now 3 times and I have not even flown much, 2 of the incidents were back to back.

Again today, 12/21/22 at approximately 1600 flying the mini with Samsung S21 and the newest version of DL (4.3.0 {2231} Kernel 4.30 and the program shut down about halfway through a 12 minute flight.  This is now the 4th time in 2 weeks.  I used the "Close All" button and shut everything down but 3 attempts could not get DL to re-start.  I finally turned on DJI Fly and returned the drone to home.  I wasn't even holding the remote, it was sitting on a deck rail in front of me so I did not hit something by accident.  I was watching the drone and it just stopped.  I looked down and I was on my phone's desktop.

In addition I checked the flight log, keep in mind, the drone had flown half the mission but there was nothing in the log of what it had flown.  There was only a position of where I am guessing the program shut off.

Are you saying the Fly app just stopped, or the DL app there?

    Which phone are you using?

Samsung S21. DL just shut down and drone hovered, Jim knows about this issue. I thought the new update would fix this.

Another bizarre situation.  Flew a mission today and the drone continued to fly the mission but the screen froze showing the drone stationary.  Tried stopping the mission and re-starting but the drone kept flying and the screen was still frozen.  Tried re-starting DL and it would not re-start.  I finally brought drone down with DJI Fly.

Does this happen on any other devices or just this one?

    I don't know I only own one phone and I don't have a tablet that's fast enough.
