dji_check_fc_takeoff_failed_unknown

Markus Sinerva

Hi! I’m getting an error message when trying to takeoff. I’m practicing the Dronelink-app and guyed mast inspectios for the Fly-by Guys. I was flying over a forest and training the setup with imagined mast nearby. Everything went fine until I landed and changed the battery. After battery change I get error message ”dji_check_fc_takeoff_failed_unknown” to my Dronelink screen, left upper corner. Drone won’t start. It shows ”ready to go” and the fail message about 5 seconds both. I tried to change the battery, restart, drone, controller, ipad, Dronelink-app, but nothing helps. Any idea what could be the reason? It’s -3°C here in Finland and batteries are held in warm pocket.

    A few suggestions.

    • Are you in a restricted zone?  If so, and you previously loaded an unlock (see my five minute Friday video on that) sometimes you have to re-enable it after a battery swap.
    • Is the battery property inserted?  I had an issue like that with a Phantom 4 Pro v2 and it had sensed that the battery was not fully inserted.
    • Can you fly in the DJI app?  Often, switching to the DJI app will give a clearer explanation of what is wrong.

    Best of luck!

Also are all the batteries firmware updated. I have read read about this issues which cause the drone to not take-off.

    Thanks for the answers.

The problem is actually now solved.. don't know really the reason for this issue.

First I was able to fly today and yesterday with the same setup and settings and account. Then it just stopped working and didn't start the engines but gave this error code. I also updated both of the devices and fly safe database. Now I tried with my own DJI account and DJI app, and it complained about device binding. I logged in to my own device with the employer's account and it started working.

Strange because all was working fine before, and suddenly this issue..  something to do with the device binding perhaps, even if battery related code (I think).

But hey, now it's working after a long wondering and testing, so hard practice and work with this good looking app!

Thanks again to all for your time!

Good to hear. I’ve seen several pilots who have updated their firmware on drone and controller forget to do each battery. As long as it’s working now, Enjoy….
