Time to update my SmartPhone and would like to go bigger. Any recommendations?

Tim B

My oldish Samsung Note 9 works ok, but there's a couple of issues. Firstly the small screen as well as the fact that there's no way to take a screen capture (Volume down + Power!) when in the holder.

As a steadfast PC & Android guy I've never owned any devices from the "other side" but...

I've seen where some use what looks like a full size (10" or so) tablet? Obviously that would require some kind of special holder for my Air 2. Sweet spot might be a mid-size tablet. Any recommendations along those lines would be most appreciated.

Also, am I correct in assuming that WiFi only would be less desirable than a device with a data plan?

I'm also looking at new Android devices.

Martin Reading which 7FE 5G are you using: 2021 model, or the latest?

And does anyone have experience with running Dronelink on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (regular or Lite) or A8 models?

Heinrich. Should not have any issue if you purchase a device which was released within the last year or two as described here.

12.4" screen?! Yikes-- do you have an assistant to help you carry it around? :-)

But seriously, What kind of an adapter do you use to connect to your controller? I have to admit, something that large is tempting...

Tim B, here's a few photos that show the benefit of such a nice size screen, and also the mount

    Modern dashboard open

    On fly menu open

    Function wizard open

Side view of the mount https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B092VK6NX3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

It may look quite big, but its nicely balanced, most of the time i just fly with it in one hand

Nice! Thanks for the photos. I'm thinking I could do a picture-in-picture and watch a Netflix video while running a long Mission.  :-)

I'll definitely keep this model in mind as I continue my research.

Still looking at low budget Android options - do anyone have any experience running Dronelink on the following Android based tablets:

    A. Lenovo Tab P11 Plus - 11" WiFi Tablet 64GB: https://a.co/d/3PayYgs

    B. Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.5" Wi-Fi Tablet 64GB: https://a.co/d/02OLaw1

I can find the list of IOS legacy devices to avoid, but can't find a list of Android devices to avoid - does this exist somewhere that anyone can point me to?

    Thanks!
