Path mission created and drone not looking at target.

Jimmy Smith

I created a on the flight mission using the path option. When the mission is re-flown the drone is not looking at the target for the photo. The drone was aa much as 180* off when the photo was taken. out of 14 way points only the last one was on target or at least close. I am using a Mavic 2 Pro.

Was this an On the fly path mission ? I’m guessing it was because if seen this before and it sets to negative degree values. However, when you open the flown mission and save it to a Repo and you want to run again they will need to be changed. All headings should set to 0° to 359° Just as a compass. Change those and it should work. if you try to change any of those in a plan to a negative value you will see it won’t allow it and will go back to 0°.

Also the issue indicator is warning you to add a camera photo interval. Otherwise it doesn’t know at which intervals the photos need to be taken.

Will this need to be done every time I create a flight plan using the path function?

It’s been this way for quite awhile so maybe so. Maybe Jim can answer why it sets to negative values and if it can be changed. I understand the On the Fly path may be a good way to set up whatever look your trying to create. Another possible option is to use POI’s instead but I’ve haven’t tried with the On the Fly path. Maybe try it to see if that is available and if it will be easier. It doesn’t take long to change those values though. I changed all of yours in about 1 minute. Most I was able to figure out without a calculator. At least you know why now. Good luck Jimmy…..

Here is your plan with them changed. I also added the photo interval command in your camera list at 3 seconds which you can change to whatever value your drone can perform. Hope this helps. Enjoy…..

Seems to be working for me. All I did was change to the correct heading values and added the photo intervals command in his departure list.

It looks like maybe it was using an old version of the Path (now called Waypoints) function. Is your device connected to the network and the app fully updated?

Does it work if you run the Waypoints function directly (not from inside Multiple Elements)?

No. I was looking for the path function as in the video. I will try the way point function today. I am evaluating different software for my company, to see which will work best for us. I am new to Dronelink.
