Setting the gimbal pitch in mapping mode to less than -35 for the duration of the mapping mission?
Hello,
How can I set the gimbal pitch to -15 degrees instead of the default -35 degrees for the duration of the mapping mission?

Can you please share the mission, and let us know what grade of account you have, as well as drone and device details
Hello Martin,
Here is the info you requested.
https://app.dronelink.com/mark-mcgillivray/my-first-project/plan/g4QgtJZc8Ow9z1YVPyQ2/DhpP3d8sMs4ZATNFwuQD
Starter (Signed up yesterday)
DJI Air 2S or Mavic 2 Pro or Phantom 4 Pro V2.
Trying to get it setup on the Air 2S currently
Thanks for your help.
Hi Mark, just click on the up arrow next to where it says -35
Martin,
I've done that numerous times. Anything I change it to higher than -35 (e.g. -34 thru 0) changes it back to -35 as soon as I tab out of the field.
The map component won’t go higher then -35°. Always been that way and I’m guessing it’s because it’s a map and usually shooting photos at a -80° to -90° pitch.
Mike,
Thanks for the heads up. Bummer news.
I guess I can cancel my subscription then. Pix4DCapture gives me the option to adjust the pitch to anywhere between 0 & -90. They just don't support the Air 2S.
Ok. I”m guessing there his a particular reason why your map needs to be higher up then -35° so that’s unfortunate. Good luck.
Mark,
What are you trying to do? Maybe you can achieve the same without using the mapping component?
Moving this to feature requests. It isn't really that hard to implement, but the question is how high do you need the angle to go, and as Barry said, what are you trying to do? For example, if you are trying to create a 3d model -15 isn't really necessary, especially if you do a perimeter orbit/waypoint component with a high gimbal angle to catch the obliques.
Jim,
I shoot progress / documentation shots on the about 40 construction sites every two weeks for 6 months or more. I am looking for a way to get the same shots every time I visit a site (automate the process and just keep my eyes on the drone). This is so the PM, APM, or management can see what the progress, possible issues, etc. are on the job site without having to go to the site every week. These shots are also used as documentation is case there is a dispute down the road.
Mapping is the closest to what I am now doing manually. I don't want to have to setup waypoints for all these sites. It would take more time (I don't have) than it is worth.
Between the 3 drones I am currently flying, the preferred gimbal pitch can be from -12 to -25. I generally fly the sites at 100ft AGL. I need to see about a 1/4in. - 1/2in. above the horizon at the top of the images. See attached.
Please let me know if this ever gets fixed.

Since you already fly these, I have another solution that would work for you. You can convert those previous flights into a mission.
You can see step-by-step instructions on how to do that here: https://vimeo.com/727001901
Since the result is a series of waypoints on a path, you can then go into the path and set the gimbal angle to anything you like.
This shouldn't take long to do and will allow you to automate the whole thing very quickly for each site.
I also run regular captures at construction sites and the ability to have it pre-programmed makes the whole capture much faster and less stressful.
Feel free to reach out if you need additional help.
If you refresh the Map component will now let you select up to -5 degrees. You will probably need to increase the overlaps a lot to maintain the same pathing.
Is it a last minute update of the app ?
Or it was existing and we ignored it ?
stéphane GARNIER I believe Jim just updated the app to allow the higher angle.
Great
Wow, quick 🤙🏼 This will be useful in some situations with running video. Instated of creating a long path up and back then adjusting, it will be quicker.
