tips/suggestions for covering large area

Hi all

What would you suggest for someone who has to create an orthophoto of a large area (a reservoir that is 2km by 3km) considering the max flight distance in the UK is 500m/VLOS. Many smaller flight plans and then stitch together after? Or what?

Yeah, lots of missions with good overlap, so that you can then put all the photos into webODM or similar

Agree with Martin - lots of missions and plenty of overlap. This will also help between battery swaps because the time to estimate the plan is shorter.

One thing to think about. If this is a reservoir then shots of just water are not going to give the software anything to match, so if you can find a way to include some land in each shot.
