Tablet user

I have seen similar posts but think it is time for a current discussion.  I have been using the Tripltek 8 which many drone fliers know is a android 10 based basic tablet.  I think the manufacturer did a custom rom to enable full brightness and take away thermal protections which for me is good due to flying in warm weather.

My dillema - the Tripletek 8 suffers with the new version of Dronelink's modern interface.  And I LOVE the new interface, so what I am really asking is.... what tablets do you use and suggest that can handle the increased processing demands of Dronelink complex missions?  Preferably something that is bright, has great battery life, and 7 inch or more screen.  Celluar not required, but preferred.  Any suggestions??

I use a galaxy tab 7Fe 5G, loads of real estate  to fly on, even if you have virtual sticks on display (not tried using them yet)

Martin - that is great!  And how about when outdoors?  Does it heat up and dim the screen or does it stay bright for flying?  Also, just to confirm - and I think given how many times you have helped me, I suspect you do indeed create and fly some complex plans. The new UI has not been an issue for the device?

Hi Tony, haven't had any problems using it with either the classic or modern UI

Just a follow-up.  Strangely enough, I went against my own current practices, and tried another IOS device.  I picked up a iPad Mini 6th gen, and used it all day Friday for a total of five missions sites and at least 12 missions.  It ended up working great.  It is not as bright as the Tripltek but it is bright enough.  It did not dim during these missions as I have had larger ipads and my iphone do, and maybe just got lucky.  I did make a conscious effort to say out of direct sunlight.

The best part, I was able to use the new modern UI and well, it worked great and had plenty of CPU for Dronelink.  Did I mention I love the new UI?  Apart from being gorgeous, the new UI just rocks.

I agree - the new UI is great.  I particularly like the ability to show the map on the entire left-hand side.

Did you see the video of the new UI features that I posted?  If not, you might want to check it out.
