How do I install the Dronelink app on Remote Controllers with Screens / DJI monitors?

  • Updated

Download and install the APKs by clicking the links from the web browser on the Remote Controller or by downloading the APK onto an SD card that can be inserted into the Remote Controller.

IMPORTANT: You must allow all of the permissions that the app asks for, otherwise the app will not function. See this article for more information.

[1] Closing DJI Pilot or DJI Fly by swiping up from the bottom of the screen (in the system app switcher) is not enough. Tap Settings > Apps & notifications > DJI Pilot/Fly > Force Stop to fully close the DJI app before using Dronelink. To prevent the DJI app from launching on startup, tap Settings > Apps & notifications > Auto start application selection > None (or Dronelink DJI).

[2] These devices are effectively low performance, outdated Android devices, which may cause performance limitations for Dronelink (more discussion here). For the best user experience, consider upgrading to a more capable and modern Android or iOS device that has been released within the last two years.

[3] These devices also require installing Google Play Services (Download APK) and Google Play Store (Download APK). Do not try to install Dronelink from the Google Play Store after installing the Google Play APK - It will not work! Also, Google Play Services may show display error notifications periodically. Tap Settings > Apps > Swipe Left (to view all apps) > Google Play Services > Force Stop.
