Two-factor authentication (2FA) is also called multi-factor authentication (MFA). With 2FA, you enter a verification code after your password. Dronelink sends the code to your mobile phone in a text message.
You can enable 2FA for your own user profile on any plan. An Owner or Admin of a multi-user account can also require 2FA for all members (org-wide MFA).
How to Enable 2FA for your Individual User Profile
Step 1 - Open User Profile
From the top right in your Dronlink account, select the user profile icon and select View Full Profile
Step 2 - Select Enable Two Factor Authentication
Select the shield icon to enable 2FA.
Step 3 - Enter Login Details to Continue
Step 4 - Enter Phone Number and Select Continue
To continue you must accept that Dronlink will store your phone number for the sole purpose of enabling 2FA.
Step 5 - Confirm Verification Code
Step 6 - 2FA Enabled
A message will display when 2FA is successfully enabled, and the shield button will be green.
You will also receive an email notifying you that you have enabled 2 step verification.
Disable 2FA
Simply select the green shield to disable 2FA, and enter your login credentials again to confirm.
Verify Email Before Enabling 2FA
The account email must be verified for 2FA to work. If not, the following error will be displayed.
How to Require 2FA for Multi-User Accounts
When you require 2FA for an account:
- Each member and Tasks user must enable 2FA to use the account in the web app and the mobile app.
- A person who accepts an invitation to the account must enable 2FA first.
- You must enable 2FA on your own user profile before you can turn on the requirement.
This setting is only on multi-user plans. Single-user plans do not show it.
Enabling 2FA for a multi-user account will require all users accessing the account to have 2FA enabled, including your own.
Only "Admin" or "Owner" users can enable 2FA. "Contributors" cannot change this setting.
Step 1 - Open Account Settings
Step 2 - Enable 2FA for Members and Tasks
Select the shield icon to require 2FA for all members (users), or Tasks users (a Enterprise feature).
One enabled you will see a confirmation message, and the shield will turn green.
Disable 2FA on the account by selecting the green shield.
If you have not already enabled 2FA for your user profile, you will need to enable it before being able to access your account.
New users that already have access to the account, or are invited will be required to enable 2FA. They will see the following message when logging in, or trying to access a Task.
Does Dronelink support SSO?
No. Dronelink does not support single sign-on (SSO), SAML or OIDC. Users log in with an email address and a password.
For more security, enable 2FA. On a multi-user account, you can require it for all members. Dronelink 2FA uses text messages only. Dronelink does not support authenticator apps or hardware security keys.
Enabling 2FA on Remote Controller with Firefox Browser
Enabling 2FA on the RC Enterprise Pro, RC Pro will require a setting adjustment to the Firefox web browser, and will require logging in more than once.
You may see an error stating "Unable to Process Request" and the Dronelink app will state that it "Failed to send verification code."
This can be solved by changing a setting in the Firebox web browser. More info from Firefox here and in the error message from Dronelink.
See screenshots below on settings to change.
In the Firefox app, open Settings from the bottom right.
Enable "Open links in apps" and log in again.
