How do you lock the map?

Steve Shelby

I'm working with a particular address.  Search in the upper right does not work half the time, and when it does work, it takes me to a super vague view at about 1000 ft.  Not even close to Google Maps usability.  When I finally find the house I am planning, half the time when I am setting up missions, it resets back to global view, and I have to go through this all over again.  I don't remember it doing all this in the past, and it is affecting my workflow quite negatively.

Is there a way to 'lock' the map so it does not move?  Ever?  until I zoom out?  Because I need to drop in some missions in a house or 2 or 3 and a block and I am not going to be able to play with map games much longer even though I love the product.

Half the time I am spending is working against this map.  it's really a problem.

If I am doing a search on public repositories, or moving components, it resets to Global.  Big problem!  Need the map to not move unless I move it.

Is that a better support avenue?  I had some other responses and questions but don't want to dupe it all to both places

No. Here is actually better but I'm using my phone and didn't want to type it again 🙃

Ok well, I'm on PC so I will :)

Thanks for the map tips.  Apparently, I had copied some components that were out internationally somewhere and the default was showing everything.  I was getting frustrated :)

Indeed, making new repositories for various projects is the way to go.  This is on me to sort through!  Thanks for that.

I also recently discovered the joys of right-clicking my work area to generate missions.  However, I do need the map to stay in a fixed location while I am planning.  Seems it's super easy to misclick and default to zoom back out.  I suppose I will have to alter my workflow and be more careful.

Also - the map, in general, is not so great.  I understand the limitations of MapBox and OpenStreetMaps vs Google. I would prefer to paste in GPS coordinates for planning.  Search on address does not drop a pin in the address.  I have no frame of reference.  The default results are difficult to use.  Any ideas on that?
