Error: Automatic Control Interrupted

Hi,

I tried flying this flight plan last week and received the below error message. I split the mission in half, tried a different mission, also split that one in half, and received this error every time. It seemed to consistently pop up once the drone was ~1500 ft from me, despite having plenty of satellites, good connection to the drone, and no obstructions between me and the drone. The flight mode was not switched out of P and P-GPS remained on the screen of the controller.

I am using the Mavic 2 EA, with the smart controller, to capture thermal and RGB photo and video for large mammal surveys. I saw this article with a similar error; it doesn't look like any of the settings in DJI Pilot should be causing this. 

Am I missing something? Do I need to reconfigure survey blocks to not exceed 1500 ft distance? I know the SC is a slower than ideal device - should I convert the mission to DJI Waypoints? Are there any other options available?
