Fly sideways

Hello all,

I have a DJI Mavic Mini 2 and before buying DroneLink I wanted to check if there was a possibility to fly sideways. I saw someone asking this in the forum 2 years ago but I don't know if this feature is available today.

The idea for example would be that the drone would fly in the same direction as a bike on a road but would be oriented towards the bike instead of in the movement direction. The gimball on the Mini 2 doesnt allow to shoot sideways but it can fly sideways manually.

Use a path action/ marker to add a drone heading at any degrees of path. You can even set it to degrees based on North. So a 90° heading set to the path will be 90° to the right of the path and drone will be pointing that direction but still following the path flying sideways. Or 270° set to path will be 90° to the left of the path. You also can add a gimbal pitch at the same marker to point downward at whatever pitch you need. Using a maker/ path action you can add or change many functions and even some components. Great way to control the drone. You can also just set the heading at the first Checkpoint/ Destination if wanted instead. As always there can be many ways to set up a plan so it depends on the pilots needs or preferences to get it to perform like they want.

Here is a simple plan I created quickly with two markers. Marker 1 sets to 270° which is 90° To the left of the path with a gimbal pitch to focus on roadway. Marker two is just to show you can set it beck to 0° on path heading forward again, or you can change a lot more. Hope this helps Enjoy…

If using as a Hobbyist only the current pricing it indicates the Hobbyist Elite. All the Hobbyist plans are a one time fee. If using for business purposes you will need a business plan.
