In general we treat every beta build like a release candidate, and the current beta build is probably 1 or 2 builds away from being an actual release candidate. Having said that, we typically do not recommend that normal users use the beta unless they really want to help, or as in your case, there is an issue that has been corrected that you must have access to.
Running the beta for some weeks. Sometimes things go wrong even due to my own fault.
Fingers crossed, never had safety issues. However one should be everytime ready to push the "pause" button.
I’ve Been using DL for over 1-1/2 years. I’ve only been using Beta versions for about the last 7 to 8 months, maybe longer. 1200 minutes of flights. I’ve never read a post which a drone crashed due to either the production or Beta version of the app. A couple reported crashes but always pilot error. The app has never cause my drones to anything I didn’t set it up to do. So I’d say it’s as safe as the pilots input. 🤪 Enjoy…….
I wanted to just give a quick input on this topic.
As the pilot, you are always in control. If you observe something not going to plan, just change flight modes, and take control of the drone. Beta is safe, and I would argue that the same risks apply to non-beta. You create a mission, and fly it with automation, but at all times, you are the one in control.
I used the beta version to capture client data on a 400-acre construction site yesterday. The missions were quite large and involved but, I'm happy to report that not only did it capture everything perfectly but it fixed two recurring problems I had on that site.
Beta software is never 100% and should always be treated with respect. But, my experience with DL beta versions has always been good.
400 acres! Ugh. Hope you brought plenty of water and batteries along.
I agree, Dronelink gets better and better. It is way past indispensable for me now. I am also taking to the waypoints addition.
