MAVIC AIR 2 S GIMBAL ORIENTATION FAILED

gabriele

I have been trying to do a map with my mavic air 2s but I have been getting an error that says gimbal orientation failed.

I changed the pitch from 90 to 83, 84 and still getting that error. Does someone knows why this happens?

You need to be on the latest firmware.

Goal. I am trying to have Dronelink (specifically mapping but I am running into issues with all of them) work with my Mavic Air 2S without updating the firmware on my drone.

    Errors Observed

    • Initially, DJI Encoder issue was the error message received.
    • Now the only error I observe is "Gimbal Orientation Failed" with some troubleshooting instructions. It is important to note, that at all points, the gimbal can be instructed to pitch up and down, but it will always read a null "--" value.

    Assumptions and Baseline Data

    • S22 Ultra - SM-S908W and on One UI 5.0 / Android 13
    • Mavic Air 2S - Firmware 02.04.2040 (note, upgrading this to a newer version is not an option).
    • DJI Fly - v.1.7.0 (not opposed to upgrading but also choosing not to).
    • Dronelink - Currently on the Hobbyist Elite plan - v4.4.1

I recognize there has been a lot of socialization regarding updating, but am seeing if there has been any new developments in that regard. Thank you kindly.

    This is the only solution.
