Anyway to update satellite image with custom orthomosaic?

Fischer, Brant

I fly construction sites which usually dont have updated satellite images. Is there a way to upload our own previously flown ortho image to replace the generic satellite image? I want to use dronelink for facade mapping but need updated image to know where the building facade is on site.

    No (see existing feature request).

Also, even if this feature gets implemented, the accuracy of the sensors (GPS, altimeter, etc) is +/- 4m, which typically means you will need to use drone offsets / adaptive facade anyway.

Agree needing to use offsets if needed but I need a way to update underlaying imagery. Drone Deploy is the only thing I can find that does this and I really dont want to use it

The adaptive facade function has you mark the location of the facade with the drone in the real world to handle this.

@Jim McAndrew, there will be a possibility of having a video with examples of use in facades with the adaptive flight option, of real use such as what is exposed here, if there are no updated maps.

Creating a tutorial showing the adaptive facade function is on the roadmap.

    hi Jim

I also want to overlay the original orthomosaic. Because the satellite map may be cloudy or the topography may have changed significantly, making it unhelpful.

4u nashitakahashi did you ever receive the solution to this request. I am having the same issues and I would like to use custom layers to assist in the process of building maps.

If you have an ortho, import it into google earth as described here https://studio.youtube.com/video/1SFAeUbD50Q/edit then you can create a path in google earth and use that as explained in this video https://studio.youtube.com/video/uHDxgYw3gMM/edit
