DJI No Fly Zone NFZ problem partially solved.

Each Mission I start with DJI GO4 app this to avoid the risk Dronelink blocking the mission if the Mission start in a NFZ.

Case 1: Start in a NFZ problem solved

I start the Mission with DJI GO4 app in a NFZ DJI shows a popup message “Are you aware this is a serious risk” I answer yes.

DJI GO4 records this status internally.

Next step I start DRONELINK app no problem it works, but a time consuming procedure.

Case 2: Start in a allowed Fly zone and heading toward a NFZ

I start in a allowed Fly Zone with DJI GO4 app no popup message

I start DRONELINK app

After a while the mission is stopped with the message “Automatic Control Interrupted: The drone must remain in P-GPS flight mode for automatic control”

Even worse the RTH did not work !!!!!!!!!!!!

How is Litchi solving this problem?

Thank you for a Solution

avoid the risk Dronelink blocking the mission

We do no actively block any missions. If you don't unlock the NFZ first in DJI GO then the DJI SDK will not allow virtual stick control.

How is Litchi solving this problem?

We can't speak to how other software works. The DJI SDK does have APIs to unlock fly zones, but we have not taken advantage of those yet (it has been submitted as a feature request though).

Well, for me it's a necessity, because I live in a blue area, and travel around where there are airports. Recently, I've emailed DJI, and they've unlocked the El Nido, Coron and Manila airports here in the Philippines. Soon I will need the Tacloban airport unlocked. But if dronelink can't fly in them, I can always use fly.

I tried again yesterday and same thing. Unlocked in DJI Fly, but would not unlock in Dronelink. All versions up to date. DJI Fly force stop before using Dronelink. I'm hearing DJI no longer requires unlocking, however, it still comes up on my screen.

Is the DJI Fly safe data up to date in the DJI Fly app. My understanding is it needs to be updated or you could have issues as apparently if it isn’t it won’t allow the motors to start even if your not in a restricted area. As far as Unlocks as Jim had stated as well as many other threads, DL does not have any control over the DJI unlocks. So if an unlocked is required then it would need to be done in the DJI Fly app firsts, then force close the Fly app and open the DL app. Other than the information given I’m not sure what else you can do. It’s all fairly new so I’d contact DJI on their forum for any further assistance since it’s on their end.

Zendesk is blocking some post still so I can’t send a YouTube link. I’m sure if you search you can find several regarding the removal of GEO Zone unlocks. Here is a screenshot of what should pop up when in a restricted area. All you do is check the box and it should work. I’m curious if the message appears in the DJI Fly app in any restricted area.

The message appears in DJI Fly, however in Dronelink there's no way to unlock it. Not good. If I were on a paying job, I wouldn't be getting paid.

Understood Rick. Unfortunately DJI change the way it works. It’s always been up to DJI since DL has no control over this. Maybe Jim can take a look and see if it is even possible to get it to work.

I’m just guessing that the new warning message is why it won’t work. It may not stick across the app as an unlock would do once the Fly app has been opened and then is closed. All implemented in January with no unlocks required, just the warning while in a restricted area which pilots assume full responsibility.

That's probably what's wrong. Hopefully it will get fixed soon. I wonder if Litchi has the same issue? I'm going to try it out.

Rick. Haven’t heard back on whether Litchi worked or not. I have an idea which may work but it would be easier to use email to explain how. If you see this post you can email me and we can talk about it if you’re interested. wyldwestaz@gmail.com. Enjoy.

Ok. Do you mean with DL or other apps ? That info may help others.
