Nice clean look!

Tony Simek

Sorry if this is not appreciated here in the general category, but I just wanted to share.  I was not able to participate in the beta due to lack of time, but upon logging in today I think I see the results of that work.

The new look is excellent!  Clean, sharp and modern!  I have a number of automated missions this weekend and am looking forward to exploring the improvements.  Thank you Dronelink for innovating and keeping things fresh!

Glad you like it! Feel free to leave the positive feedback in a review - it really helps us! (iOS | Android).

I certainly agree with Tony.  Kudos to the Dronelink developers.  In addition to the new look, there is a lot new underneath! I would encourage all new and experienced users to review and spend some time with the Mission Planner 2.0 Update web page.  It does a good job of introducing you to all the new features as well as explain how many standard features have been changed, i.e. simulated drone.  This will save you time and potential frustration of looking for familiar pieces and processes.  Plus, as I did, you may find out what you have routinely done in the past is a heck a lot easier with 2.0:

Any workflows in particular stand out to you?

Yes.  I primarily use DL for preplanned photographs - both single frames and multi-frame panoramas, i.e. 2x2.  I set up my shots using Simulated Drone.  Originally I did this in combo with the Path/Waypoint components as I learned from one of your training videos.  Lately I have simplified that with just using the Destination component for each shot.  Either way Simulated Drone made it easy to automatically create these pieces with the desired Heading component along with the proper altitude, pitch and heading values
With the new interface I discovered that Simulated Drone has changed slightly in implementation and is called 3D.  Using the desktop app, it remains really easy  to use the mouse to frame and position my shots.  That is when I discovered a new component call Photo!  Even though I could still export my desired Destination (now called Checkpoint) and Heading from 3D, using the Photo component is a lot cleaner and contains the desired altitude, heading and pitch info.  If I want to do a multi-frame pano I can simply duplicate the Photo component and tweak the heading and pitch as required.  With Photo the graphic depiction of the mission is a lot more informative and clear what I am trying to accomplish.
Initially I was flummoxed that pitch and heading values were not exposed but then remembered there now is a Mission Planner normal/expert mode.  As soon as I put it in expert mode, voila', I can now see the pitch and heading values!
