Dronelink Mobile for Android - Beta 3.4.0 (2203) | Kernel 3.4.0 - Invitation through Installation

This report is just on how not-so-smoothly things went this morning. No big deal, just thought it worth noting.

Accepting the invitation to join testing apparently requires viewing the invitation in a browser running on the Android device.

Once clicked, we go to the Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dronelink.dronelink), however, at that destination page, I didn't find a check box or other button to tap in order to join the beta program like other beta programs I've helped with testing. Late this afternoon while writing up this report, and after accidentally tapping a random place on this same Google Play page on my Android device, I was taken to another page where the option to join the beta program was offered.

Here's what the destination page looked like:

That then left the option to download the 64-bit Android package for my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G, Android 12

Getting past the virus scan warning, and Download anyway, Dronelink asks if I want to update this app? After accenting, Dronelink then then tells me that the App not installed as package conflicts with an existing package.

After uninstalling the earlier Dronelink Mobile for Android app, the installation of the Beta finished without much fuss; i.e., accenting to allow Dronelink to access this device's location, determine relative position, manage phone calls, access photos and media, logging into my online Dronelink account.

agreeing to the sundry screens...

And finally, loading a project to test

End of Invitation through Installation report.

Google play doesn’t make it really easy, unfortunately (welcome to the pain of being a beta tester).

I'm well acquainted from years of working with other developers of other programs that I love. I'm not an iOS guy, but understand that Apple can be pretty persnickety too. My hat goes off to you and my other developer friends!

Ya, Apple makes you download a whole other app to get it. At least with google you can just use Google Play store.
