You can see it in the main menu at the bottom (by clicking the hamburger icon). Unless you are in the beta most people do not need to be bothered with this information all the time.

OK, but for what it's worth, many programs keep versions easy to find like these 3 for example:
This helps when providing developers with feedback, and yes, while the 3-horizontal line menu is another means of discovery of build numbers and such, or the About section under Help in many other programs, having this information readily available comes in handy without intuiting between the lines and multiple clicks.
