Mission planning is slow/buggy
Hello,
I am having performance issues when planning. No matter the component, dragging around any node is delayed (for example moving the boundary on a 2d map moves a few centimetres behind my mouse and does not update in real time) . I am still able to to create missions and fly without an issue but compared to tutorials and reviews my experience does not compare.
I have tried the App on an iPhone 12 and Ipad pro 2020. I tried the webapp on my macbook pro 2013 and my old alienware (which i use for metaphase processing) I have tried my 5g and 2.4g internet which is 100mghz and my 5g cellular connection.
Is there anyway to improve the performance?

How big of a map ? What’s the runtime ? The much larger maps take more to process. Always better to create several smaller maps then one huge one. DL web app even has a warning when a map gets very large.
Any map size. Right from the start of planning it is slow. Im talking 100 square meters even.

I've used the dronelink for a few months and I always plan the mission with the computer. I've never had the similar problem (slow) like you describe.
It is quite hard for me to know/understand the situation of the "slow".
How slow is it?
Is it possible to share the recording of the situation for knowing the issue more clearly?
By the way, I've just done a quick test and everything looks fine. You can take the video for a quick reference.

Hello Ray,

Here is a video link. I forgot to undo anything but that too has a 1-3 second delay.

I see the delay you are referring to but I can't say that looks unusual or bad to me. Mine does it a little faster than that, but it's a fast machine. Even with my machine, there is a delay after the move for the pan to recalculate and redisplay, which is not unexpected when you consider the amount of work going on in the background.
If you do the same in something like Dronedeploy, you will see a similar delay after the move.

I understand your point although I have used DroneDeploy, Pix4D and Litchi which all felt more responsive. I am only asking the question because from what i have seen in reviews and tutorials looks much better.
It is not huge but it is noticeable enough to make planning larger or multiple missions a bit frustrating. I am only hoping to find a way to improve on this responsiveness if there is any,
I am guessing this screen recording was done on one of your old computers? If you do the same thing on your iPhone 12 I assume you don’t see this type of lag?

No same thing. This is my Ipad pro. IPhone12 won't show finger taps in the video but it is doing the same thing.

I've checked the video and the speed of yours seems to be quite similar with mine.
In my opinion, I will say the speed is normal.
I've also checked the task manager of the browser and find Dronelink consumes a lot of CPU resource while boundary point is moving.
This is reasonable.
FYR.
Unless you have a PC which can fly the space shuttle there will be some lag. Larger maps especially if using a grid maps are worse. I don’t see a big issue but that’s just me. Enjoy……
We have been working on mission planner performance improvements in the beta web app.

Tried the beta. Feels much better!
Tried the beta too and agree, it feels much faster.
wow, much much better.
