Downloaded Mission Plan - Updates

George K

Quick (?) question. I have downloaded plans in case I am in poor reception area. If I update the plan again at home, do I have to download the plan again, or does it automagically update the downloaded version? (Assuming I do not change the name.)

I’d download the newer version. The plan has been altered and it only has the file saved with old plan info.

It only downloads the mission plan whenever you tell it to, or whenever you open it.

Maybe I misunderstood the question. If going to an area without any service and you download for offline use in the Native app but then altered that plan, shouldn’t it be download again since the plan was changed. Otherwise wouldn’t it only have the older file saved without the newer changes.

Maybe I am not looking in the correct place for answering my own questions, but the responses leave questions.

    1. I am at home, I plan a mission on my PC.

    2. I think I will be flying this mission in an area that has poor cell service. So I download it to my phone.

    3. I fly the mission, I/it may or may not use the downloaded mission, how do I know, or don't I care? (Unless the drone flies into the silo out back because it was using the old version.)

    4. The plan comes to close to trees/buildings/active volcano/the silo. I gotta change this!

    5. I go home, on the PC I make my changes. (Trying to make changes on iPhone is next to impossible for me.)

    6. Now...Question #1: does the plan saved on the phone automatically update? OR: Do I have to force the update again. (I think this is the case, BUT, if I understand correctly, if I were to fly the mission when I had connection, it would then update the downloaded version. OR would it just try to fly the previously flown mission?

    7. I am heading to Africa Safari, I download a number of plans/missions. I don't know which one I have downloaded, because as far as I can tell there is no way to tell which I have downloaded or not. (As in another tab "Downloaded Missions) So now... Question #2: How do I remove downloaded version from my phone? So ones that I will never use again are cleaned up on the phone anyway. they just there forever? If I remove them from the PC, does that remove them from the phone?

    So much to learn.....

If you are online when you open a plan, it will always try to grab the latest version. If you are not online it will try to use the last cached version.

If you alter the plan then download it again for offline use before leaving. Seems simple enough. I download all plans I’m going to use just before I leave home because mine is Wi-Fi only. I’ve had no issues. Enjoy.
