Missions won't save after app update — Mavic Air 2, iPad Mini 5, Elite plan
Hi everyone,
I'm running into an issue where Dronelink won't save my flight missions anymore. Here's my setup:
- Drone: DJI Mavic Air 2
- Device: iPad Mini 5th gen (MUQW2CI/A)
- OS: iPadOS 18.7.2
- Plan: Elite (one-time payment)
- App: recently updated to the latest version, issue persists after the update
I create a mission, name it, close the panel, but when I go back into it or reopen the app, the mission is gone. This started happening consistently since last Friday.
I've already tried:
- Closing and reopening the app
- Switching between WiFi and cellular data
- Checking my account status (it's not a plan restriction)
Has anyone else run into this, especially on an iPad Mini 5? Any ideas on what else could be causing it? Thanks in advance!

Not currently able to reproduce this. Is it specific to just this device?
I only use DroneLink with that device, although I create flight plans with other drones. I can edit the flight plans, but when I close them, the plan disappears. I just discovered that I can create a flight plan and "copy" it to another folder to save it, but once I do that, I can't edit it again, and without copying it, the plan disappears. Could it be a bug? Or maybe I pressed something I shouldn't have and the autosave stopped?
Sounds like you’re using the mobile app and the built in mission planner which will work ok but always better using a browser like Firefox or any of the other three supported browsers. The built in mission planner uses the devices standard browser which it comes with which for all Apple devices it’s Safari. It’s not a very good browser so may be why. I’m using iPad 11 Pro with Firefox and no issues creating a plan and once I exit it’s saved automatically. If still an issue than more than likely all the browser junk which needs to be cleared and/ or rebooting of your router to clear out all the up and downstream data which your ISP is not clearing out or refreshing. It’s happened only a few times on my devices over 5 years and always fixes the issue.
There are several other threads regarding this issue and every time it’s reported it turns out being the pilots browser or ISP/ router junk which won’t clear or refresh all the junk out.
