Automatic mission start

Milan Banić

Is there a way to automatically start a preplanned mission based on some external trigger? I want to monitor some dynamic environment, for instance if something entered guarded perimeter, the drone is sent to preplanned mission to check what is the intrusion.

As a pilot you need to visually watch the flight.  How would you plan to do that automatically?

I am making an use case as an researcher. The visual control will be always strictly respected. Someone will always monitor the execution with an remote, but I want the execution start on some external trigger.

David Ritter Those rules are FAA...what if he's in another country?

I'm not aware of that personally but...there is a whole programming interface that is available, so I would bet it's possible somehow.

As an alternative.  Would you be able to do this with something like IFFT (If This Then That)?  For example, I know IFFT integrates with Ring devices, so maybe there is a way to do that where you can record a set of actions and play them once Ring (or similar) is triggered?

Interested to know what you find out.

I am another country, but same rules apply. I was not aware of IFTTT before, so by your suggestion it is possible to make a set of commands in IFTTT to be executed by drone link app?
